While Major League Soccer gets the lion’s share of global media attention when it comes to North American soccer, it is the lesser known United Soccer League that is the largest professional soccer organization in North America. With that said and the 2020 USL campaign steamrolling toward its annual championship showdown, it’s time to take a look at who’s in action on Wednesday night and which teams are offering the best betting value against their USL odds.

USL Championship Games Odds – Top Picks, Preview

Indy Eleven (4-0-1) vs. Hartford Athletic (3-0-0)

Indy Eleven is sitting in first place in Group E but they had their four-game winning streak snapped in their 1-0 road loss against St. Louis C on July 18. Hartford is sitting in first place in Group F. The Athletic improved to 3-0 on the season by subduing Philadelphia Union II 3-2 on Saturday. These two rivals split two meetings a year ago with both teams winning at home and I like the home, Indy Eleven to get it done in this one, seeing as how they’ve put nine goals on the board to Hartford’s seven while allowing four goals to the Athletic’s three. I like the value Hartford is offering in this clash and this one could come down to a draw, though, again, I’m going with Indy mostly because they’re playing at home.

Atlanta United 2 (0-1-3) vs. The Miami FC (0-0-1)

Atlanta United 2 is sitting in third place in Group H. After dropping their first two games of the season, Atlanta got a 2-2 draw against Memphis in their third game of the season. Unfortunately, the United 2 got smacked around by Charleston in their humbling 3-0 shutout loss on July 19. Miami FC is sitting in last place in Group H after losing their opener and only game this season, 4-1 against St. Louis on Friday. Miami might be favored in this affair, but I like the value that Atlanta is offering as a home underdog in this clash. I know Atlanta is winless through four matches and has allowed eight goals while scoring just three, but Miami looked awful in their convincing loss against St. Louis last weekend and now, the United 2 are completely desperate and playing at home. I like Atlanta to get their first win of the season in this meeting.

Louisville City FC (2-0-2) vs. Sporting Kansas City II (0-0-3)

Louisville is sitting in third place in Group E after picking up their second win of the season by beating…you guessed it – Sporting Kansas City – 1-0 on Saturday. KC is sitting in last place in Group E while failing to pick up a victory through three games. Louisville has won two straight in this rivalry and three of the last four meetings overall while putting an insane eight goals on the board in one of their two meetings last year. Kansas City has dropped six straight matches dating back to the end of last season while getting outscored 17-7 during the span. While Louisville is -1 in goal scoring differential, Kansas City is -3 in goal differential. More importantly, Louisville has found a way to win ugly twice in four tries this season and they look like they should easily be able to extend their winning ways against Sporting Kansas City in this matchup.
