IndyCar 2022 Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Betting Picks, Odds Favorites and Prediction

If you have not been paying attention to IndyCar this season, you are missing out on a championship battle for the ages. There are just 3 races left in the 2022 season and a mere 22 points separating the driver at the top of the standings from the one in 4th. These final 3 races are gong to be about as exciting as it gets, as the belief is that this championship race is going to go all the way down to the wire. The first of those races is set to go on Saturday at 6 PM EST at the Gateway Motorsports Park and the running of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500. Will we have a new leader at the end of this race, and will things get tighter still? Let’s take a look at the current top 4 heading into the weekend so you can get all set to bet against their IndyCar Odds.

2022 IndyCar Betting Analysis and Prediction for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Race

Will Power

Power last won the World Championship back in 2014, but he now has another title in sight. That said, he has to find a way to hold off the chasing pack in these final 3 races, which is going to be easier said than done. Power has just 1 win on the season, but he has also consistently been on the podium this season, landing in the top 3 in 7 races. You do, though, feel that he might need to win another one before this is all said and done, and you might well fancy his chances in this race. He has finished 3rd at Gateway in each of the last 2 seasons.

Scott Dixon

It’s never a good idea to write off one of the best drivers in the business, but that is what I did with Dixon a few weeks ago. With his win in Nashville, which was his 2nd victory in the last 5 races, Dixon moved into 2nd overall, now just 6 points out of the lead. This is a man who has 6 championships to his name in IndyCar, so he might well be the best prepared to handle the pressure in these final few races. He had a win at Gateway in 2020, so he might be able to steal this one, too.

Marcus Ericsson

The bad news for Ericsson is that he is heading backward in the standings while the other drivers take a run at the top spot. He won the Indianapolis 500 earlier in the season, but he has not really been able to build on that success. He has gotten steadily worse as the season progresses and has now failed to crack the top 10 in the last 2 outings. His best finish on the Gateway track is 5th, so it seems somewhat unlikely that he will make a big move this weekend.

Josef Newgarden

He may be down in 4th at the moment, but as we mentioned earlier, the 2-time former champion is just 22 points off the pace being set by Power. Newgarden has 4 wins on the season and can never be counted out in any race, but you do feel that he needs a win coming down the stretch to really put the pressure on the drivers ahead of him right now. He has 2 wins in his last 3 runs at Gateway, so he looks like a very solid bet on Saturday.
