NCAA Football Week 8 Over/Under Picks

NCAA Football Week 8 Over/Under Picks

Written by on October 17, 2018

Week 7 of the college football season was one that tends to make bettors a little gun shy moving forward, as it was a week where the underdog reigned supreme. The national rankings looked a whole lot different on Monday morning after the dust had settled on what was a truly crazy weekend.

We are ready to get back on the horse, though, and are going ahead without picks as we always do. For this piece, we are going to be looking at O/U picks for Week 8 of the college football betting action, but we will also have ATS and SU picks for you guys, too, so be on the lookout for those.

NCAA Football Week 8 Over/Under Picks

Colorado State Rams at Boise State Broncos (OVER 61 ½)

If you have no plans for Friday night, may we suggest that you tune into this game, especially if you have never seen Boise State play before. There will be no need to adjust your TV set, as the field they play on really is blue. You might, though, need a calculator to keep up with the scoring, as the Broncos are a team that routinely puts up big numbers.

That said, 16 of their last 23 at home have gone under the total, usually because it is always set so high. Things are different here, though, as 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two have gone OVER. This number looks beatable to me, so I am on the OVER.

  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Colorado State’s last 6 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Boise State’s last 7 games when playing Colorado State

Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Arkansas Razorbacks (OVER 55 ½)

Not the most glamorous match-up on the schedule in Week 8, as these two have combined for just 2 wins this season. Both will be looking at this game as an opportunity to pick up another win, which is why I think we might see a very open style of football here.

Both of these teams have been trending heavily on the under, simply because they have been unable to score against better opponents. The last 2 games that the Razorbacks have played in have gone OVER in a big way, with 166 total points scored in those games. Let’s look for the OVER to hit again here.

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Arkansas’s last 6 games

Illinois Fighting Illini at Wisconsin Badgers (UNDER 56 ½)

The Wisconsin Badgers need to find a way to bounce back after getting thumped by the Michigan Wolverines last weekend. This match-up may be just what the doctor ordered, as the Badgers have beaten Illinois in 9 of their last 10 meetings.

Wisconsin is one of the favorites for NCAA Football Week 8.

While the over has been trending for the Badgers overall, things are a little different at home, with 4 of their last 6 home games going UNDER. The same has been true for Illinois, with the Fighting Illini seeing 4 of their last 6 games overall also going UNDER. I think we are in for a low-scoring affair here, with the UNDER looking like a good bet.

California Golden Bears at Oregon State Beavers (UNDER 59)

Another pair of teams desperately in need of a win after a poor start to the season. The Beavers have been able to put points up on offense, but they have struggled mightily on the defensive side of the football.

They might be able to boost their defensive stats a little versus a California team that has just not been in sync on offense all season, averaging just 23 PPG. The 59 point total seems just a little too high to me, which is why I am going UNDER here.
