5 Fearless NCAA Football Betting Predictions for BIG 12 in 2018

Prediction #1: Oklahoma’s ATS record won’t reach .500

The Sooners are favorites to again win the Big 12. Like most conference favorites, Oklahoma should face tough spreads. They might not lose a ton of games in the conference. They won’t secure a .500 ATS record, though. Road games versus Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, and West Virginia will be tough to win outright. Oklahoma won’t blow out UCLA, Texas, and Oklahoma State in home games.

Prediction #2:  Over will go 3-9 in Texas games

Texas has one of the top defenses in the nation. Because they play in the Big 12, over/under totals in their games are higher than they should be. The Longhorns defense comes to play every Saturday. Expect Texas games to go under totals throughout the season. A 3-9 over/under record looks like a real possibility.

Prediction #3: West Virginia game over totals could break records

The West Virginia Mountaineers should average between 50 to 60 points per game. Mountaineer fans had expected an improved defense to help WVU to a Big 12 Championship. Injuries on the defense during the spring means West Virginia could field the worst defense in the conference. Sure, the Mountaineers will score close to 60 points per game. So, will most of their opponents. Over records should fall in Mountaineer games.

Prediction #4:  Iowa State will challenge for the Big 12 Championship

The Cyclones are an emerging Big 5 Conference college football team. Iowa State battles Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Texas Tech at home. The toughest games are at TCU and Texas. Iowa State could appear as the best team in the Big 12 because their defense might be better than Texas’. Iowa State is one of the NCAA Football Betting favorites to win the Big 12 in 2018. The Cyclones went 11-1-1 ATS last season. Don’t be surprised if they give another awesome performance against the spread this season.

Prediction #5:  Texas will lose at least 4 games this season

Action continues to pour onto the Texas Longhorns to win the Big 12. Many believe that Tom Herman’s second season in Austin should lead to a Big 12 title. It’s not going to happen. In fact, the opposite could happen. Texas went 7 and 6 last season. The Longhorns will lose at least 4 games this season:  Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and West Virginia. If they don’t bring their “A” game versus Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Texas Tech, they could lose those as well. Playing against Texas as a favorite on the moneyline should lead to nice profits this season.
