NCAAF 2021 Season: Charleston Southern vs Georgia Betting Analysis & Prediction

The Georgia Bulldogs have far and away been the best team in college football this season. With one of the best defenses in the history of college football and an offense that gets better by the week, it’s hard to see anyone stopping the Bulldogs in their quest for the ever-elusive National Championship.

The Bulldogs made it through SEC play undefeated, and now have two more games to play prior to the SEC Championship. This week, the unlucky squad that gets to travel to Athens is the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.  Check out our College Football Betting analysis for the upcoming match between Charleston Southern and #1 Georgia.

College Football Betting Preview for Charleston Southern Buccaneers at #1 Georgia

Charleston Southern Buccaneers vs Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview

Charleston Southern enters this one with a 4-5 record. Defensively, they’re allowing nearly 26 points per game, however, they have yet to see an offense as good as Georgia’s. Offensively, the Bucs haven’t had a very good season. Their offensive line has been dreadful, and quarterback Jack Chambers has constantly been under pressure. This pressure has caused him to throw nine interceptions on the season. If Charleston Southern has struggled putting up points against teams in their conference, how are they going to score against the best defense in the country?

As for the Georgia Bulldogs, they’ll look to continue their dominant run against Charleston Southern. The Bulldogs are giving up less than 10 points per game, and this is against SEC teams. Unless they score against the Georgia backups, we can’t see Georgia Southern putting up many points, if any at all, against Georgia.

Against the Charleston Southern defense, the Georgia offense shouldn’t have any issues moving the ball. Stetson Bennett and company seem to be getting better each week, and this defense shouldn’t be much of a challenge for them. Look for Kirby Smart to get some good minutes for his backups in this one. We should see a lot of backup quarterback JT Daniels. If Bennett were to get hurt, Daniels would see all of the action under center, and this one will be a good one to get Daniels some much-needed work.

This game can’t come at a better time for Georgia, as they have some injury issues and some players returning from injuries. With Anthony Anderson on suspension, Georgia can’t afford to lose any more players. Starting linebacker Nolan Smith left last week’s game with an arm injury. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is hoping that running back Kendall Milton and offensive tackle Jamaree Salyer will return from injury and play in this one.

The oddsmakers think that this game will be such a huge blowout that they won’t even set odds on it. Vegas hasn’t seemed to be able to place a spread high enough to keep Georgia bettors from winning money on the Bulldogs. With an average margin of victory of 31 over some very strong teams, we can’t think that Georgia won’t beat Charleston Southern by at least 50.

Georgia is just hoping to keep everyone healthy, and get some work in for some of their backups. They know that the next couple of games should be easy wins, and then they can set their sights on winning an SEC title.
