Given the surprises and upsets that we have seen in the early part of the college football season, I think we can say that going 7-3 with our SU picks through the first 3 weeks isn’t so bad. That said, we are going to continue to try and improve as the season progresses, so that we can all end the year with a bankroll bigger than what we started with. Heading into Week 4 of the college football season, we have a few teams that look as though they are going to be tough to beat, but as we mentioned at the start of this piece, the surprises have been coming thick and fast. We will have you covered with ATS and O/U picks for week 4, but for now. Let’s focus on the SU picks for Week 4 so you can continue making your bets against the NCAA Football Odds.
NCAAF Week 4 Straight-Up Betting Picks | 2022 College Football Analysis
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers over Georgia State Panthers
Let’s get the Week 4 ball rolling with a pick from a Thursday night game, with Coastal Carolina heading to Atlanta to face the Georgia State Panthers. The bookies have this one as being rather tight, with the Chanticleers in as a modest favorite. That helps add some value to the SU pick, which is why I am adding this one into the mix. There is a lot to like about Coastal Carolina from a betting perspective, starting with the fact that they have won their last 5 games when starting as the favorite. Also, the road team has covered in the last 5 meetings between these 2 teams, which again goes in favor of Coastal Carolina.
Clemson Tigers over Wake Forest Demon Deacons
It is still very early in the season, but this already has to go down as a critical ACC matchup. The Clemson Tigers are trying to make amends for a poor season in 2020, while the Demon Deacons are attempting to get back to the Conference Championship Game. Both teams are out to a 3-0 start, so it goes without saying that the winner of this one will get a leg-up on the pack. While the Wake Forest Demon Deacons have a very good team again this season, they have never done well against Clemson, and have in fact lost each of their last 10 meetings with the Tigers. You also have to take into account that Clemson has won 10 in a row when starting as a favorite, which they are this weekend.
Iowa State Cyclones over Baylor Bears
There are some very big conference games going this weekend, and you have to say that this is one of them. Baylor comes into Week 4 with a 2-1 record, while the Iowa State Cyclones will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the season. You certainly have to give the edge to the Cyclones playing at home, which the bookies have done by installing them as a modest 2 ½ point favorite. This is especially true when you consider that Iowa State is on a run that has seen them win 6 in a row in their own building. The Bears hold the slight edge in head-to-head meetings over the last 10, but I still like Iowa State here.
