2022 NCAAF Betting Predictions: Teams to Straight-Up Win their Week 5 Match

The college football season is flying by, and we’re already in Week 5. On Saturday, we’ll see four games that pit ranked teams against each other. The oddsmakers have released the early lines, and we’ve found a couple of games that we really like. We’ll break down each of the two games and give you some College Football Betting insight into each game. After all of that, we’ll give you our “sure winners” for those games.

Sure Winners For Week 5 of the 2022 Season | College Football Betting Picks

Arizona State @ USC (-23.5)

Prior to last week, USC had been mowing through their competition. However, a trip to Oregon State slowed down the high-powered Trojans offense. USC managed to escape Corvallis with a narrow victory, and remain undefeated on the season.

As for Arizona State, a week after the firing of head coach Herm Edwards, the Sun Devils were thoroughly beaten by the Utah Utes. The Sun Devils’ offense has been anemic all season. In their last three games, they haven’t scored more than 21 points.

Arizona State’s loss to Eastern Michigan was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and now the Sun Devils are in a state of disarray. This will be the second straight week that they’ll see one of the top two teams in the conference.

USC had to score two late touchdowns to beat Oregon State last weekend, and they only scored 17 points in doing so. With that being said, they still racked up over 350 yards of offense. Caleb Williams may possibly be the best quarterback in the nation, and he could be making a case to be the Heisman winner this season. He has great receivers and a backfield full of options. With a Lincoln Riley offense, anything seems to be possible.

Even though the numbers seem to favor the Sun Devils, as the Trojans are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven Pac-12 games, we still like USC as a “sure winner” in this one. With Arizona State’s program being a mess and the Trojans coming off of a poor performance, we see USC going wild on the Sun Devils.

Iowa State @ Kansas (+3.5)

Who would’ve thought that the Kansas Jayhawks would have the highest-scoring offense in college football? Well, believe it or not, they do, and Lance Leipold has turned the Kansas program around. Kansas has victories over Houston, West Virginia, and Duke, and now they’re looking to show the Big 12 that they’re truly for real.

Transfer quarterback Jalon Daniels has been a huge reason why Kansas has been scoring points in bunches. While the Kansas defense isn’t anything to write home about, the offense has been scoring enough points to make up for the defensive issues.

Iowa State isn’t what it has been the last few seasons. Matt Campbell’s name keeps coming up for any job opening, and the Cyclones just haven’t looked like a real strong team.

With all of that being said, we think Kansas stays hot and wins another one. We’re taking the Jayhawks as one of our “sure winners” this week. Rock Chalk!
