NCAA Football Utah State Aggies Win/Loss Total Betting Prediction for the 2022 Season

NCAA Football Utah State Aggies Win/Loss Total Betting Prediction for the 2022 Season

We are starting to see some changes to the college football setup, but until such times as the playoffs are expanded, which is coming soon, we are unlikely to see a team from outside the Power 5 hoist a National Championship Trophy. For the teams outside of those major conferences, the season is all about winning their respective conferences and perhaps getting a bowl game against one of the bigger teams. For the Utah State Aggies, this season is all about going out and trying to repeat as the champions of the Mountain West, which they managed to pull off for the first time in school history. The Aggies are going to have a tough time repeating, as they lost some big-time receivers in the offseason. They are still in good shape at QB, but are they good enough to go over the total of 7 wins that the bookies have hit them with? Let’s take a look and see so you can place your bets against their NCAAF Regular Season Wins Odds.

Utah State 2022 Season Betting Prediction: Win/Loss Total Record

Utah State Regular Season

The chances of the Aggies matching their 3-0 start of last season are about slim to none, all because of what they have coming in Week 2. Utah State will open the season at home to UConn, a game you would like them to win, but expect them to get steamrolled in Week 2 when they hit the road to face the Alabama Crimson Tide. The good news is that they follow that one up with home games against Weber State and UNLV before closing out September with a road trip to face BYU. They lost to the Cougars last season and can probably expect the same in 2022, which would mean closing out the opening month of the season at 3-2.

In terms of conference play, October opens with a critical home game against Air Force, who the Aggies pipped in a thriller last season. If they are to win the division again, this is a game that they need to win. They follow that up with a pair of road games against Colorado State and Wyoming, which they split last season on the road. With home field advantage, maybe they can take both this time around.

The final month of the season starts with a home tilt, and a likely win, against Mexico State before the Aggies hit the road to face Hawaii. They then have San Jose State at home followed by Boise State on the road to close out the regular season.

It’s tough to predict how this team might do after losing some key personnel on the offensive side of the football, but you do have to say that 7 wins looks like a manageable number.

Conference and Beyond

The Aggies won the Mountain Division last season with a 6-2 record, finishing ahead of Air Force, who had the same record, courtesy of their win against the Falcons. They are probably going to need to match or better that record, and with some of their tougher tests coming at home, there is a good chance they can pull it off. I am stopping a little short of predicting them to win the Mountain West Conference, simply because of those doubts on the offensive side of the football, but taking the OVER on the win total might not be a bad idea.
