TCU Horned Frogs over Baylor Bears

When the College Football Playoff Committee revealed their first rankings of the season, the TCU Horned Frogs rightfully felt spurned. They were left out of the top 4 and were even ranked below a 1-loss Alabama team. Given that they are now 10-0, they cannot be excluded from the top 4, alongside 3 other teams with the same record. They will continue their quest to go unbeaten with a tough road trip to face Baylor this weekend. The Horned Frogs have won each of their last 5 road games and are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 meetings with Baylor. That last detail important when you consider that TCU is a 3-point favorite here.

Washington State Cougars over Arizona Cardinals

This is another one that the bookies have as relatively close, with Washington State in as a modest 4-point road favorite. The fact of the matter is that I’, not so sure this one will be that close. Yes, there is not a whole lot separating these two teams, but I still feel that the Cougars are more than good enough to go on the road and come away with the victory. It certainly helps that they have won 4 of their last 5 meetings with the Arizona Cardinals and that they are on a run that has seen them cover the spread in 7 of their last 9 games. I would actually be willing to take the Cougars to win and cover the spread in this one.

Minnesota Golden Gophers over Iowa Hawkeyes

The Big Ten West Division is about as tight as it gets at the moment, with 4 teams all sitting tied for the top with a 4-3 record. Both Minnesota and Iowa are in that group, so it is absolutely all to play for this weekend, with the winner of this one giving themselves a real shot at facing either Michigan or Ohio State in the Conference Championship Game. It is Minnesota who are in as the slight favorite at home for what should be a fun game to watch and wager on. The Golden Gophers have been a tough nut to crack in their own building, covering in 6 of their last 7. I think they use home field to their advantage and get the win.
