Liiv SANDBOX vs Fredit BRION

Liiv SANDBOX and Fredit BRION are two of the weakest LCK teams, but on paper, they look fairly evenly matched, and they both have enough talent that can help them finish the season mid-table. However, based on what we’ve seen this season, Liiv SANDBOX looks more stable.

Fredit BRION are a strange team, mainly because they should be performing well in the current scaling meta. They always liked to play scaling comps, and while it didn’t work for them last split, the current state of the game awards this thinking.

Yet, Fredit BRION struggle, and it’s easy to see why. For whatever reason, Fredit BRION don’t seem to know which champions are strong, and they just draft whatever they feel like it. The most interesting part is that they continue to do so despite not achieving anything.

Fredit BRION have the talent and the ability to be stronger than how they are now, but until we see some improvement, it’s tough to bet on them. Admittedly, Liiv SANDBOX are not a particularly strong team, but they at least have a plan on how to approach their games.

Prediction: Liiv SANDBOX to win

Gen.G vs Kwangdong Freecs

Gen.G are easily one of the top LCK teams, and they’ve yet to show anything that would make us doubt them. This, however, is hardly surprising considering Gen.G roster was put together to be the next LCK superteam.

Admittedly, they’ve yet to reach that status, having failed to win the LCK 2022 Spring, but they did not come far from claiming the trophy.

Moreover, Gen.G look even better this season, and that’s a scary thought for other Korean LoL teams and even international competition Gen.G will face at Worlds.

Kwangdong Freecs are the complete opposite. Although we wouldn’t call them the worst team in the league, they’re hardly a mid-table squad.

They’ve won one of their opening four games, and their sole victory came against the disorganized Hanwha Life Esports in the season opener.

Although two of their three defeats came against Nongshim RedForce and DRX, who are much stronger, the eye test proves that Freecs are just not good enough to compete against LCK top dogs.

Some teams have upset potential, but most of the teams that fall under that category are stable, have a strong plan, and solid macro. Kwangdong doesn’t have any of that. And even if we would consider Kwangdong as an underdog, it’s very tough to bet against Gen.G with the performances they’ve been putting up this split.

Until proven otherwise, it will take a lot more than a good team to defeat Gen.G – DWG KIA couldn’t do it, and if they failed, Kwangdong Freecs should have no business winning a single map, let alone the series. This is a very easy choice – Gen.G should get it done in two maps and take one step closer to the LCK 2022 Summer title.

Prediction: Gen.G -1.5 maps
