The third major of the 2023 season is closing in, and the best golfers in the world will take on the challenges of the North Course at Los Angeles Country Club for the 2023 U.S. Open. The 123rd playing of the tournament begins on Thursday, June 15th, and concludes on Sunday, June 18th. LACC is hosting a major event for the first time in the club’s history and first PGA Tour event since the 1940 Los Angeles Open.

Qualifying is still ongoing for the tournament, but the favorites for the tournament are already exempt into the field. Those exempt include recent major champions, winners of major amateur events, and leading players in the official world golf rankings.

Scheffler has been the hottest golfer on the planet over the last year and has shown no signs of slowing down. The 2022 Masters and defending PLAYERS champion has finished in the top 25 in 15 of 16 events played this season, including a pair of wins and 12 top 10s.

The only weakness in Scheffler’s game is with the flat stick where he’s 114th on Tour losing 0.066 strokes to the field. If the no. 1 player in the world can figure out the putter, watch out.

Jon Rahm (+840)

Rambo already has four wins this season, including his second major victory in April at the Masters. The 2021 picked up his first major win at the 2021 US Open and backed that performance up with a T12 last season.
