2019 Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4

2019 Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4

Written by on October 30, 2019

Unless chalk wins every race in this Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4, the payout should be fantastic. Check out a Late Pick 4 ticket that will only cost horseplayers $60 for a $1 in the 2019 Breeders’ Cup!

2019 Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4

  • When: Friday, Nov. 1 & Saturday, Nov. 2
  • Where: Santa Anita Park, Arcadia, CA
  • TV: NBC Sports / NBC

2019 Breeders’ Cup – Nov. 2

Race 9 – Mile

  • Time: 6:20pm EDT
  • Age: 3+
  • Distance: 1 Mile
  • Surface: Turf

Horses to Use: 2-Lucullan, 3-Space Traveler, 6-Got Stormy, 9-Circus Maximus, 10-Without Parole, 11-Uni

The Breeders’ Cup Mile is wide-open. Circus Maximus figures to go off the favorite with Get Stormy going off the second choice. Both Lucullan and Space Traveler has a big shot to upset the chalk. Uni will attract some dollars and is a must use. Without Parole has no shot if they ran horse races on paper. They don’t, though. He’s the best 20/1 to 30/1 choice to win this race.

Race 10 – Distaff

  • Time: 7:00pm EDT
  • Age/Gender: 3+, fillies/mares
  • Distance: 1 1/8 miles
  • Surface: Dirt

Horses to Use: 1-Paradise Woods, 3-Street Band, 5-Dunbar Road, 9-Serengeti Empress, 11-Blue Prize

The Breeders’ Cup Distaff is the key for a huge Pick 4 payout. Midnight Bisou has won 7 races in a row. She’s 6/5 on the morning line. She should win the Distaff, which is why most every horseplayer will make her their key horse on their Late Pick 4 tickets.

If you upset Midnight Bisou, and you hit the Late Pick 4, the payout will be tremendous. That’s why it makes sense to go 5 deep in the second leg.

Race 11 – Turf

  • Time: 7:40pm EDT
  • Age: 3+
  • Distance: 1 ½ miles
  • Surface: Turf

Horses to Use: 10-Old Persian

Those who don’t key Midnight Bisou will most likely key Bricks and Mortar. Bricks and Mortar faces a tough task beating Old Persian. The Charles Appleby trained horse won the Grade 1 Northern Dancer in a prep for this. He’s a solid key horse in the Late Pick 4.

Race 12 – Classic

  • Time: 8:44pm EDT
  • Age: 3+
  • Distance: 1 ¼ miles
  • Surface: Dirt

Horses to Use: 10-Vino Rosso, 11-Code of Honor

McKinzie, the favorite, didn’t show much enthusiasm in the Awesome Again Stakes. There’s also the possibility that he doesn’t like to run 1 ¼ miles. If he doesn’t produce his best race, the Breeders’ Cup Classic should come down to the top two finishers in the Jockey Club Gold Cup.

Vino Rosso buried the other front-runners in the Gold Cup. The Curlin sired and Todd Pletcher trained 4-year-old, held off Code of Honor but got disqualified for a slight bump in the stretch. Vino Rosso could track Higher Power in the Classic and then take off.

He might not hold off Code of Honor again, though. Code of Honor, a 3-year-old, easily won the Travers Stakes in August. He’s in incredible form. The only horse that figures to beat Code of Honor in the Classic is Vino Rosso and vice versa.

Late Pick 4 Ticket Cost: $60 for $1
