LFA 150: Farias vs Sweeney Odds Favorites, Betting Predictions & Analysis

Written by on January 12, 2023

The weekend of MMA action gets rolling on Friday night in Minnesota, with LFA 150 delivering a main card that is home to 6 fights. While there are no title bouts to be found at this event, each of the fights on the main card are intriguing in their own right. The action is set to begin at 9 PM EST, and you can catch it all on UFC Fight Pass. We are now going to break down the main card to see if we can pick some winners so you can get ready to bet against their LFA Odds.

MMA Betting Preview and Picks for LFA 150: Farias vs Sweeney Main Card

Wes Schultz Vs Dylan Budka

We get the main card rolling with a Middleweight bout that has a pair of fighters in the early stages of their pro careers. Schultz has come out the gate strong, winning all 3 of his fights, with 2 of those coming inside the distance. Budka lost his first pro fight, but he shook that off quickly and comes into this one having won 4 in a row. A good matchup, but I think Schultz stays unbeaten with a submission win.

Mitchell McKee Vs Ira Lukowsky

We have a Bantamweight bout up next, and again, it’s fighters with limited pro experience. McKee is out to a fast start, going 3-0, with a pair of wins in the LFA, and not needing to go beyond Round 2 to get there. Lukowsky started out strong, winning his first 3 fights, before taking his first loss last time out. I think things might be about to get worse for him, as I like McKee for the KO win.

Scott Writz Vs Jalin Fuller

Next into the octagon is a pair of Welterweights with similar records bur heading in different directions. Writz comes in at 6-2, but he has put his losses in the rearview mirror, with wins in each of his last 4 fights. Fuller has the exact same 6-2 record, but those losses have come recently, with 2 defeats in his last 3. Momentum is everything, and Writz has it. I like hom for the KO win.

Miguel Sanson Vs Mark Climaco

The Flyweights are up next in what looks to be a very good matchup indeed. Sanson is out to a great start as a pro, winning each of his first 4 fights, although only 1 of those wins came inside the distance. Climaco is 7-1 overall and 3-1 during his time with the LFA. He bounced back from his first loss to win last time out. A very evenly matched fight, but I have Climaco by decision.

Thomas Peterson Vs Richard Foster

We have a pair of bruising Heavyweight fighters in for the co-main event of the night. Peterson opened up his pro career with 5 straight wins before taking his first loss. He bounced back from that to win last time out. Foster has been very up and down, going 6-4, which includes being 2-2 in his last 4 fights. This should be a comfortable KO win for Peterson.

Ary Farias Vs John Sweeney

We close out the main card with a Bantamweight bout between a pair of evenly matched fighters. Farias has bounced around different organizations, going 12-3 overall, but just 2-1 in the LFA. Sweeney is 11-3 overall and a perfect 3-0 with the LFA. He has also won 5 in a row ahead of this one. Despite that run, I like Farias to get the upper hand here.
