It was a bit of a wobbly start to the season for the Blue Jays, but they appear to have righted the ship and have now won 7 of their last 10 to get within 4 games of the surging Rays in the AL East. The defending champion Astros are sitting 2 games below .500 at 7-9 and are well off the pace we all expected them to set this season. I’m sure there are no panic buttons being pressed in Houston right now, though, and this start could become a bad memory rather quickly with a good series versus the Jays.

Atlanta Braves at San Diego Padres

This is already the second time that these two teams will have met in a series this season. It was the Padres that dominated the first one, taking 3 of 4 from Atlanta. Since then, though, the Braves have been outstanding, winning 6 in a row to open up an early lead in the NL East. The Padres are now at 8-9 and have been tough to figure out. Can they get back on track and have another big series against the Atlanta Braves?

NY Mets at LA Dodgers

These are a pair of teams who could very well be in the playoff conversation this season, and both have certainly started as though they plan on being in the postseason. The Mets already have 10 wins and are trying to keep pace with the high-flying Braves in the NL East. The Dodgers are off to a bit of a slower start than we expected from them this season, but I still believe they will get int a groove and come good in the end. This should be a fantastic series and one that we definitely will be keeping an eye on.

Boston Red Sox at Milwaukee Brewers

I thought it might be fun to include a little bit of interleague play in the list for this week, with this one coming later in the week. The expectation was that the Red Sox would struggle this season, and their 8-8 record suggests that might be the case. They have, though, won 3 in a row ahead of the start of the new week. The Brewers are out to a hot start, going 11-5, which has them sitting on top of the NL Central with a 2-game lead. Looks like the Brewers will be favorites here, but you cant always tell with interleague games.
