Top 2022 MLB Series to Bet On the Weekend: White Sox vs Athletics Analysis

As the Major League Baseball season is quickly coming to a close, teams that are in the playoff chase know that every game is crucial. For one particular team, the Chicago White Sox, they are in this boat. The White Sox are currently tied with the Minnesota Twins for second place in the American League Central. Both the Twins and the White Sox are both just two games behind the Cleveland Guardians. Unless you win the Central, you won’t be making the playoffs, so every game is huge. That being said, let’s take a look at the upcoming series of games between the White Sox and the Athletics so you can bet against their MLB Lines.

Must-Bet Major League Baseball Games for the Upcoming Weekend (Sep. 9th – 11th)

Should We Bet on the Chicago White Sox This Weekend?

The White Sox have a four-game weekend series in Oakland. The Athletics and Washington Nationals are currently battling for the worst record in the Major Leagues. Heading into the start of the series, Oakland is 22-45 at home. The upper management knows that every loss is important, as losing now will get them a better selection in the next draft.

As for the White Sox, things have changed since Tony LaRussa left the team due to medical issues. Interim manager Miguel Cairo has seemed to have lit a fire under the stagnant Sox. Many had left the White Sox for dead, but they have now come to life, and a playoff spot isn’t out of the question.

This four-game set is big for the Sox. They are playing one of the worst teams in baseball, and they know that they can’t squander the opportunity to make some ground. The Guardians are in Minnesota this weekend, so the pennant chase could see some big changes after the upcoming weekend.

Chicago gets the benefit of having the core of their starting rotation throw against Oakland this weekend. The Athletics will see the Sox ace, Dylan Cease, on Thursday, but they’ll still have a tough test against the next three throughout the weekend. Lucas Gioloit, who struggled throughout August, takes the ball on Friday. Even though August was rough, he did throw well in a loss to the Twins last Sunday.

On Saturday, Lance Lynn gets the nod. Lynn was phenomenal in his last start. Lynn dominated the Seattle Mariners last Monday. He went 7 innings, striking out 11, and allowing just one unearned run. Lynn has also been credited with inspiring the Sox on their recent hot streak.

Sunday’s Sox starter will be Johnny Cueto; the journeyman reclamation project has been a big surprise for the Sox this season. He’s 7-7 on the season with a 2.87 ERA, and a 1.17 WHIP. He’s been the hard-luck loser in many of his starts, as the Sox hitters haven’t given him much run support.

The Athletics will send James Kaprielian, Adam Oller, and Adrian Martinez to the mound this weekend. Kaprielian has struggled all season, Martinez’s ERA is nearly 5, and Oller’s is over 6. If the White Sox are going to make up ground in the Central, this weekend is the time to do it.

We know that Chicago will be favored in this series, and they’ll probably be a big favorite. It’s still worth your dollars to place wagers on the Sox this weekend. They know that this is the perfect opportunity to make up ground in the Central. They’re playing a team that isn’t playing for anything, and the two teams that they need to lose will be beating up on each other. Betting on the Sox could be a profitable venture this weekend.
