Houston Astros at Milwaukee Brewers

We are still waiting to see the best from the defending World Series champions, but there are definite signs that it might be coming. They come into this week on a 7-game winning run and have now won 9 of their last 10 games. The Brewers have plugged away all season long and finally overtaken the Pirates in the Central. They are a solid 13-8 at home, but this might be their toughest test yet.

We move to later in the week for what is arguably the biggest series on the Week 8 schedule. Both teams are coming into the new week sitting atop their respective divisions, but one team is certainly in better form than the other. The Rays jumped out to an amazing start to the season, but they have cooled off of late and have seen their lead atop the AL East drop to just 2 ½ games. The Dodgers have done the opposite, overcoming a slow start to take control of the NL West, but they did close out last week with 2 straight losses.

San Diego Padres at New York Yankees

These are a pair of teams that we expected more from this season, and while both are off the pace in their respective divisions, you do feel that both could still be a playoff factor.
