Every champion in the world of fighting needs to start at the bottom of the pack and work their way to the top. In MMA, there are several different organizations in play, with each one offering some sort of path to the UFC. Perhaps the clearest path is through the Professional Fighters League (PFL), but even getting into that means putting in some work. In this case, the PFL Challenger Series can serve as a pathway to the PFL proper, with some of the winners through the 8-week event getting handed a ticket into the league. That run of events is coming to an end this weekend, as we prepare for Week 8 of the Challenger Series. This is not a huge card by any means, with just 4 fights set to go, but each bout is huge for the fighters involved as they look to advance their careers. Let’s take a closer look at all 4 fights, with predictions for each so you can place your bets against their PFL Betting Odds.

MMA Betting Preview for Professional Fighter’s League Week 8

Aaron Blackie Vs Ali Zebian

We get the evening started with a Featherweight bout between a pair of fighters who look to be very evenly matched. Blackie has bounced around several different organizations and has put together a very decent 8-2 record, which includes wins in each of his last 2 fights. Zebian is 7-2 and the winner of 3 in a row, with his experience similar to that of his opponent, although he has fought with some larger organizations. I’m giving the slight edge to Zebian in this one.

Jackie Cataline Vs Jeslen Mishelle

The women are up next for a Lightweight bout that is going to be a little tough to call given that both women are still very early in their careers. Cataline’s first fight came in Week 3 of the Challenger Series, and she looked very good in an opening round win. It is a very similar story for Mishelle, who also appeared in Week 3, where she too delivered an emphatic win. Bit of a coin flip with this one, but I am taking Mishelle.

Simeon Powell Vs Tobias Baker

We have a bruising battle set to go next, with a pair of Light Heavyweights set to duke it out. After a successful turn in the amateur ranks, Powell has made a great start to life as a pro, winning all 4 of his fights and not needing to go the distance in any of them. Baker went unbeaten as an amateur and won both of his first 2 fights as a pro before losing last time out. A good matchup here, but one that I think Powell wins.

Carlos Leal Vs Chris Brown

We close the night out with what looks to be a very good Welterweight bout. Leal comes into this one with a 15-3 record, but he has also not lost a fight since way back in 2014, winning 9 in a row after taking that loss. Brown has spent most of his time as a pro with the LFA and comes into this fight on a 3-fight win streak that came on the heels of back-to-back losses. Given the current run that Leal is on, it becomes almost impossible to bet against him.
