MotoGP French Grand Prix Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

Written by on May 10, 2023

It is still very early in the 2023 MotoGP season, with just 4 races in the books. While it’s certainly still very early, we do have one racer who is taking control of the standings. There is plenty of time for things to change and there are several racers who could yet get into the mix and take a run at the World Championship. This weekend sees MotoGP head to France for the next race on the schedule, which is set to go on Sunday morning at 8 AM EST. Let’s take a quick look at the MotoGP betting analysis and potential favorites for this one by going through the current top 4 riders in the standings.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for the SHARK Grand Prix de France

When: Sunday, May 14 at 8:00 am ET
Where: Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans
TV / Streaming: CNBC

Francesco Bagnaia

Winning a championship in any sport is tough, but it’s even tougher to win it in consecutive seasons. That is what Bagnaia is looking to do after winning it all last season. He won 7 races last season on his way to the championship, and he is on course to do it again, as he already has a pair of wins through the opening 4 races. Those wins have helped him amass 87 points, which means he already has a 22-point lead at the top of the standings. He will be looking for much better in France this weekend after being forced to retire in the 2022 version of this race.

Marco Bezzecchi

After a successful run in Moto2, Bezzecchi made the move to MotoGP last season. It was a solid enough showing, with Bezzecchi finishing 14th overall. That said, no one really expected him to take a run at a World Championship this year, but that is exactly what he is doing. He opened the season with a 3rd place finish in Portugal, which he followed up with a win in Argentina and a 6th place finish in the US. He did lose some ground after failing to finish the last race, but he should be able to bounce back this weekend.

Brad Binder

Over his first 3 seasons in MotoGP, Binder has continued to improve with each passing season, progressive racking up more points than the previous season. He finished 6th overall in 2022 after amassing 188 points and has already picked up 62 points this season. He is also coming off his best race of the season with a 2nd place finish in Spain and you get the sense that his first career win in MotoGP is not that far off. He ran 8th in France last year and I believe that Binder might be a good top 5 bet this time around.

Jack Miller

There is much the same story with Miller, who has also seen his final points total ger higher with each passing season. In 2022, he finished 5th overall, picking up 189 points, which is his best total at this level. He only has 49 points through the opening 4 races, but it is worth noting that he failed to finish in the US race, which means that no points were added to his total. He might well be worth a look this weekend, though, as he has a 2nd place finish in France in 2022.
