2021 NBA Championship Odds Expert Analysis Feb. 10th

Written by on February 10, 2021

We are roughly a third of the way through the current NBA season, which will run for 72 games, which means that we now have a pretty good idea of what every team is all about. We now know the strengths and weaknesses of each teams, as well as having a handle on which teams are likely to be competing for an NBA championship later this year. That said, we still have the trade deadline to come, which could potentially change the look of things, plus we are seeing some surprises in how teams are handling the pandemic. There is a lot of basketball still to be played this season, but we thought it might be a good idea to look at the updated odds to win the NBA Finals. Let’s take a closer look at our NBA update so you can keep planning your bets against their NBA Championship odds.

Updated NBA 2021 Championship Odds

LA Lakers (+200)

The defending champions are currently sitting a game out of the lead in the Western Conference behind the surprising Utah Jazz. That aside, they look as good as they did last season when they won it all, but the West looks tough this year, so getting out is not going to be easy. One area of concern for the Lakers is their play at home. While they have dominated on the road, going 12-2 to this point, they are just 7-4 at home. Yes, they still have a winning record there, but we expect teams of this caliber to be nothing short of unbeatable on their own court. In the grand scheme of things, though, that really is a small concern.

Brooklyn Nets (+350)

As we have seen in the past, throwing the best players in the league together on the same team does not always deliver the desired effect. The Brooklyn Nets, on paper at least, became that much better when they landed James Harden in a trade, but they are not getting the results we expected just yet. In fairness to the Nets, we have not seen Irving, Durant, and Harden play together that often just yet, as various issues have prevented that from happening. We will get a better idea of this team once that trio does start to play together regularly.

LA Clippers (+600)

Most of us believed that it would be the Clippers who would serve as the biggest challengers to the Lakers in the West. They are certainly in the picture, but both the LA teams are trailing the Utah Jazz at this stage of the season. The Clippers are down in third and 5 games out of the top spot, as they are going through a bit of an uneven patch right now at 6-4 in their last 10 games. I expect them to pull put of that and get back on track, and I also expect a deep run come playoff time.

Milwaukee Bucks (+700)

While they may have been the best regular season team over the past couple of seasons, the Bucks have disappointed in the playoffs. A slow start to the season had some people doubting their ability to get the job done this year, but it now looks as though they are slipping into a higher gear. They are just a game and a half out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings and closing the gap with each passing week. This is a good price and may be the best time to get on the Bucks if you like them to win.
