The Sixers came out strong in Game 3 and maintained their intensity, never allowing the Hawks to lead beyond the first quarter. The Sixers led by as many as 22 on the way to a 127-11 victory Friday. The Sixers shot 58.2% from the field and 47.6% from deep overall.

Superstar Joel Embiid was terrific as usual in the win with 27 points, eight assists and three blocks. Coach Doc Rivers said before the game that Embiid was “feeling great” despite the questionable tag he was carrying, and while he isn’t close to 100 percent with a knee injury, he has still been dominant. His usage rate of 39.9% through the first two games was his highest for any of the seven playoff series he’s played in. Embiid has scored 22 or more points in all but one of his playoff appearances this season, and he’s also scored at least 35 points in four of their last five postseason contests.

Ben Simmons had 18 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Simmons bounced back from an ugly Game 2 performance where he only scored four points. He has now handed out at least seven assists in all but one of his playoff games this season.

Tobias Harris contributed 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists. He has scored at least 20 in all but one of his playoff appearances this season. He’s also grabbed eight or more rebounds in six of his last seven games.

The Sixers will be without starting guard Danny Green, however, as he suffered a calf strain in Game 3. The three-point specialist will miss 2-3 weeks, which means at least the rest of this series. More will be available for a variety of backcourt players, including Furkan Korkmaz, Matisse Thybulle and Shake Milton.

Korkmaz came up big in Game 3 with a playoff career-high 14 points. Korkmaz checked into Friday’s game at the 6:02 mark of the first quarter. He rattled off 11 points in the opening frame and didn’t miss a shot from anywhere on the floor, going 3-for-3 from the field, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line.

“You saw in the first half, Furk [got] hot out there,” Harris said. “Got his swag and his confidence shooting the three out there. He made a big three as well in the fourth quarter. You just love to see it. He’s a guy who works his tail off day in, day out. I’m happy that the moment came, and he really took advantage of it for sure.”

As noted above, the Hawks had won 13 games in a row at home including playoffs, which had been the longest streak in the NBA. Trae Young had 28 points and eight assists in Friday’s loss. Young carried the Hawks offensively and was the only Atlanta player who finished with more than 25 points. Young has at least 27 points in six of his eight postseason appearances to date. He’s averaging 28.8 points per game during the current playoff run.

“Trae Young going downhill is not good for any team, and he did that too much [in Games 1 and 2]” 76ers coach Doc Rivers said. “So we have to slide him off a little bit. That’s not really being more physical. That’s just body position.”

Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 19 points with four rebounds. Bogdanovic has scored at least 14 points in every game during the current series and has notched double-digit points in all but one game during the postseason, but he’s been struggling with his shot at times. The guard is shooting just 42.2 percent from the field in the playoffs compared to 47.3 percent during the regular season.

John Collins had 23 points and seven rebounds Friday, ending up just three boards shy of putting up what would’ve been his first double-double since May 1. He bounced back from an ugly effort in Game 2, where he ended with just eight points while shooting 4-for-11 from the field.

Atlanta lost starting forward De’Andre Hunter for the season entering this series and hasn’t had fellow forward Cam Reddish yet. He will not play Monday, either, due to his Achilles issue. Reddish has been practicing so Game 5 is a possibility.

The Hawks are still 21-3 in their last 24 games played at State Farm Arena, a run that dates back to 2/21/21. Since Feb. 21, Atlanta’s 21 home wins are one shy of the most by any team in the NBA (Brooklyn and Utah, 22) and the Hawks’ .913 winning percentage at home is the league’s top mark.
