NBA Week 20 Betting Predictions: Over/Under Picks for the Best Week’s Matches

Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Where: Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio
TV / Streaming:

The Boston Celtics is coming off of a tough overtime loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday night. Now they have to travel to Cleveland for a back-to-back against one of the league’s toughest defenses.

Cleveland is averaging right around 112 points per game, while they’re only allowing just over 106 points per game. Offensively, they may be hurting in this one, as it doesn’t look like Donovan Mitchell will be playing. Mitchell injured his finger in Saturday night’s game, and right now is doubtful to play on Monday night against the Celtics.

As for the Celtics, we know that they’re going to be worn out from their Sunday night battle with New York. Compound that with the fact that they had to get on a plane after the game and head to Cleveland, and you’ll have a tired basketball team.

Boston does have one of the best offenses in the game. Led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics can put up points in bunches. They’re also very good on the defensive end as well. Boston is averaging nearly 118 points per game.

In looking at the lines for this one, the over/under has been set at 218.5 points. It looks as though the oddsmakers are taking into account that Mitchell probably won’t be playing in this one. And without Mitchell, who is known as one of the league’s worst defenders, Cleveland maybe even better on the defensive end tonight.

We like the under in this one. We think both teams will be a little down offensively, and with Cleveland not having Mitchell, it will really hurt their ability to score points. Both squads are also very good on the defensive end of the floor.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns

Thunder vs Suns Game Info | Updated NBA Odds
When: Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona
TV / Streaming:

This one could be a shootout, as both teams can put up points in bunches. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a good, young nucleus that should give the Western Conference fits in the years to come. The Phoenix Suns have built themselves into an offensive force now that Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are back healthy.

Oklahoma City has the second-highest-scoring defense in the league, averaging nearly 119 points per game. The Suns average just over 113, but that really doesn’t factor in having Durant, as he has seen very little game action for the Suns.

Neither of these teams are really stellar defensively, and Phoenix lost its best defender in the Durant trade. We look for this over/under to be somewhere around 230 or so. With neither team being stellar defensively, we would probably lean towards the over in this one.
