NCAAF Championship Odds: Alabama Heading Into New Season As Favorites

The college football season will be here before we know it. The oddsmakers have released their preseason national championship odds, and to no one’s surprise, the usual suspects are at the top of the favorites list. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Oklahoma Sooners are the four teams that the oddsmakers think will make it into the four-team playoff series. We’ll see if these four are there at the end of the season or if we have a surprise team or two get into the playoffs. Let’s take a look at some of the teams favored to make it into the college football playoffs this season so you can plan your bets against their College Football National Championship odds

Odds to Win the 2021 College Football National Championship

Alabama Crimson Tide +260

Big surprise, the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites to win another National Championship. Even though the Tide lost a lot of key players from last year’s championship squad, they never seem to rebuild; they just reload. Alabama will have a roster full of five-star recruits that are very talented.

Dual-threat quarterback Bryce Young will take over for Mac Jones. Young will have a lot of talented skill players at his disposal. If Young plays well and some of the new starters live up to expectations, the Tide will have a great shot at winning their second-straight National Championship.

Clemson Tigers +360

Another surprise, the Clemson Tigers are at the top of the favorites list! Dabo Swinney could have the best defensive unit in the country. The Tigers will be out for revenge this year, as they lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the college football playoff semifinals last year. DJ Uiagalelei looked good last season when he replaced Trevor Lawrence. If he plays well again this season, and Clemson’s vaunted defense is as good as advertised, we could see another Alabama-Clemson matchup for the national title.

Ohio State Buckeyes +600

Many thought that the Ohio State Buckeyes would take a step back when Urban Meyer left the program. However, that hasn’t been the case, as Ryan Day has kept the program moving in the right direction. Ohio State has yet to name a starting quarterback, but they have a lot of talented options to choose from. The Buckeyes defense has most of its starting unit from last year returning, so that should bode well for them. If they can get past Oregon in an early-season matchup, things should look good going forward.

Oklahoma Sooners +750

Lincoln Riley’s squad can always put up a lot of points, but they can never stop their opponents from scoring. This year could be different, as the Sooners have focused on recruiting a talented group of defensive players. Spencer Rattler will lead the Oklahoma Sooners offense, and this group could be one of the best offenses in the country. If Oklahoma’s defense is as good as advertised, the Sooners have a great shot at making it to the playoffs. The Big 12 doesn’t have a great track record in the college football playoffs, so this Oklahoma Sooner squad would love to show everyone that the Big 12 is a conference that can play with anyone.
