Which player, Ja’Marr Chase or Najee Harris, will win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year?

Chase looks like a lock. But although Ja’Marr played great this season, he got the benefit of catching passes from one of the best quarterbacks in the league, second-year pro Joe Burrow.

In a 2-game stretch versus the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs, the former LSU Heisman Trophy winner threw for a combined 971 yards and 8 TDs.

Not only that, but Chase plays with talented Tee Higgins and veteran Tyler Boyd, both of which demand attention. Chase can win the award, but Harris is the pick.

The Pittsburgh rookie averages 4 yards per carry behind a less than stellar offensive line. He might be the biggest reason the Steelers remain a playoff contender heading into their final game.

Without Harris, Pittsburgh would be readying their couches instead of fighting to make the postseason. Najee Harris should win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

What two players are in the running for NFL Offensive Player of the Year?

The answer to this question depends on what you think about Tom Brady’s chances of winning NFL MVP. If you think Brady is a lock, then Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has a chance.

Taylor has rushed for 1,734 yards and 18 TDs. He could eclipse 2,000 rushing yards if he has a good game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

If Taylor doesn’t win the award, Cooper Kupp should. The Rams’ best wide receiver has caught 138 passes for 1,829 yards and 15 TDs. He’s unstoppable.

Pairing Kupp with Odell Beckham Jr. has made the Rams a legit Super Bowl contender. Either Taylor or Kupp will take home NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Is Tom Brady a lock to win NFL MVP?

We want to say no, but who else can win Most Valuable Player? None of the other quarterbacks has thrown for as many yards, as many TDs, and fewer interceptions than Brady.

If this season’s MVP goes to a quarterback, and the award almost always does, it’s Brady’s. If you believe voters hand the award to a player other than a quarterback, Jonathan Taylor is the pick.

The last running back to win the award was Adrian Peterson in 2012. Taylor’s chances aren’t great. Cooper Kupp’s might be nonexistent.

No wide receiver has ever won the NFL MVP. Not even the great Jerry Rice. A kicker has won the award, Mark Moseley in 1982, a defensive end, Lawrence Taylor in 1986, but never a wide receiver.

It’s possible that because Brady has thrown 12 picks, Kupp is the first WR to win NFL MVP. But Cooper remains a longer shot than Taylor because running backs have won 12 times since the NFL and AFL merger.

Pay attention to what happens in Week 18. If Tom doesn’t pad his stats, the Rams lose to the 49ers, and Taylor runs for 250 yards against Jacksonville, the Colts’ RB could be the MVP. But if Taylor doesn’t break 100 yards and Kupp catches 12 passes, bringing his total to 150, it could be difficult to give the award to any other player.
