2022 NHL Awards Betting Update: Jack Adams, Norris, Calder, Hart and Vezina Trophy

It is that time of year. The NHL’s regular season has concluded, and the playoffs will shortly be in full swing. One thing that many fans don’t realize is that another great tradition of ice hockey is during the NHL playoffs, the league announces their finalists for their individual awards.

There are many awards that are given out to players and coaches at the conclusion of the regular season. Let’s take a look at these awards and the NHL Awards odds each participant has to win that award.

Updated Awards Odds Analysis | NHL Betting Picks

Jack Adams Award

The Jack Adams Award is given to the best coach in the NHL during the regular season. Currently, Calgary Flames‘ head coach Darryl Sutter leads the way with +200 odds to win the award. Next on the list is Gerard Gallant from the New York Rangers with +300 odds.

Two other coaches, Rod Brind’Amour (Carolina Hurricanes) and Andrew Brunette (Florida Panthers), both have current +300 odds to win the award.

Norris Trophy

The Norris Trophy is given to the defenseman who demonstrates the best all-around ability at the position during the regular season. Cal Makar, the defenseman from the Colorado Avalanche, is the odds favorite with -264 odds to win the award. Roman Josi from Nashville has the next best odds at +240.

The Tampa Bay Lightning‘s star defenseman Victor Hedman has the third-best odds to win the award with +883 odds. Clearly, the oddsmakers find this award to be a two-player race. Keep an eye out for the announcement for this award as the season concludes.

Calder Trophy

The Calder Trophy is awarded to the best rookie player during the NHL regular season. This year there were plenty of young studs to win the award, but only a few remain the favorites to win it.

Detroit’s defenseman Moritz Seider leads the pack with -240 odds to win the award. The Maple Leaf’s forward Michael Bunting is 2nd in the race with +425 odds.

In third place is the always entertaining Anaheim Ducks forward, Trevor Zegras, with +650 odds to win the Trophy. This has been a very good year for rookies, but it seems that all signs point to Detroit’s defenseman winning this award.

Vezina Trophy

The Vezina Trophy is awarded to the best goaltender at the position during the regular season in the NHL. This season has seen goalies play at elite levels, and the finalists for this award will be well deserving.

New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin leads the odds race by a major margin with -1750 odds to win the award.

Behind him is Calgary Flames’ goalie Jacob Markstrom and Carolina’s Frederik Andersen. Both of these netminders currently have +1400 odds to win the award.

This truly seems like a one-man race with Shesterkin leading the way. His stellar and consistent play has made him the heavy favorite for the award.

Hart Trophy

There may not be an individual trophy more sought after than the Hart Trophy. It is awarded as the most valuable player trophy in the NHL for that current season.

This award is where the stars shine bright. The top contenders for this award are all well-known names that have all made a monumental impact on their teams this season.

Toronto’s Auston Matthews leads the pack with -310 odds to win the award. Behind him is the always electric Edmonton forward Connor McDavid with +300 odds to win.

In third place is Johnny Gaudreau, who currently has +1,000 odds to win the award, while Jonathan Huberdeau from Florida is behind him with +2,000 odds.

This award seems to be a two-player race between two guys who have transformed the sport since they came into the league. This season they continued their on-ice success, and one will win the Hart Trophy this season.

Stay tuned during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs for the NHL’s announcements for the finalists for these respective awards.
