NFL Super Bowl 57 Odds, Betting Favorites & Analysis For Week 14

Written by on December 7, 2022

What a difference a week makes in the NFL. Last week, when we put together a similar article, we spoke about how the Kansas City Chiefs had taken over as the favorite to win the Supe Bowl. One week later, the Chiefs aren’t even in the top 2, with the original favorite moving back into the favorite spot. It was certainly a strange round of games this past weekend, which has pretty much been the case from the off this season. Just when you think you have a handle on a team, they go out and lay an egg. We are also seeing a couple of teams start to get hot, which is something we will absolutely talk about as we break down the most recent Super Bowl odds, so let’s get right to it.

Favorites

After slipping out of the favorite spot last week, where they had spent the entire season, the Buffalo Bills are back on top. They are currently sitting at +390 and are the clear favorites to come out of the AFC and go to the Super Bowl. Next up is the Philadelphia Eagles (+460), who continue to roll and are now at 11-1 on the season. They are absolutely the teams to beat in the NFC, with the Dallas Cowboys (+720) now looking the most likely to challenge them in the playoffs. While the Chiefs may have slipped after losing to the Bengals last weekend, they are still in at +480, so definitely up among the favorites to win it all.

Smart Picks

All season long, we have been saying that it looks to be between the Bills and the Chiefs to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. That might now be changing, as we have the Cincinnati Bengals coming into this week of action having won 4 in a row. It took the Bengals a minute to get going, but they now look like the team that went all the way to the Super Bowl last season and are in at odds of +1225. Those odds should have them in longshot territory, but I think those odds are going to shorten dramatically in the coming weeks.

The Eagles have only lost one game this season and look to be heading for the #1 seed in the NFC. Unless they have a total collapse in the waning weeks of the season, they are going to remain the smart pick to come out of the NFC and challenge for the Super Bowl.

Longshots

If you are not comfortable with the Bengals as a smart pick, then you certainly need to have them in as a longshot, although I believe they deserve better than that. In the AFC, you need to have the Miami Dolphins (+1900) in among the longshots, as well as the Baltimore Ravens (+2000), although I don’t think I’m alone in suggesting that I am losing faith in the Ravens.

Over in the NFC, we need to talk about the Minnesota Vikings (+1600) who are just one win away from winning the North Division and punching their playoff ticket. I think they, along with the Dallas Cowboys, are the biggest threats to the Eagles on the NFC road to the Super Bowl.
