Last Season

Brooklyn won both meetings vs. Golden State last season. The most recent meeting was on Feb. 13 in San Francisco and the Nets prevailed 134-117. Kevin Durant, who of course used to play for the Warriors, had 20 points. Kyrie Irving had 23 and James Harden 19 and 16 assists. Steph Curry led the Warriors with 27 points.

Why Bet on Golden State?

The Warriors (11-2) were upset Sunday in Charlotte, 106-102. Steph Curry had 24 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in his hometown. Curry was just 7-for-24 shooting but still reached the 20-point threshold for a fifth consecutive game. The 33-year-old has five double-doubles across the first 13 games of the 2021-22 campaign, and he’s averaged 31.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.6 assists across his last five appearances.

Curry is one 3-pointer shy of 2,900 career and has made 6,457 career field goals, nine field goals made shy of tying Rick Barry (6,466) for the second-most in Warriors franchise history. Wilt Chamberlain holds the franchise career mark at 7,216.

Andrew Wiggins had 28 points and six rebounds, topping 25 points for the second time in the last three games. Across those three appearances, the 26-year-old has averaged 26.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per contest. Damion Lee (hip) went just 2-of-10 from the floor for four points in 15 minutes off the bench. Lee was back in action following a two-game stint on the sidelines, but he was the 11th man in the rotation.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Monday that Toscano-Anderson has lost his spot in the rotation to rookie Jonathan Kuminga. Toscano-Anderson didn’t play in Sunday’s loss saw only four minutes in a blowout win over the Bulls two days prior.

Golden State is the only team in the NBA to score at least 100 points in every game this season. Their streak of 13 consecutive 100-point games to start the season is the longest streak for the Warriors since they began the 2015-16 season with 24-straight 100-point games. The Warriors franchise record for the most consecutive 100-point games to begin a season is 61, set by the 1960-61 team.

The Warriors are ranked first in defensive rating (99.3) with Denver second at 101.3. In the last eight games, the Warriors have allowed 98.5 points per game and .414 percent shooting from the field and 31.5 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Why Bet on Brooklyn?

The Nets (10-4) won their third straight game Sunday, 120-96 at Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 33 points on 9-of-17 shooting (13-of-14 FT) Sunday, to go with eight rebounds and four assists. After opening the 2021-22 season 1-2, the Nets have gone 8-1. Durant is averaging 29.6 points per game, which is his highest scoring average since the 2013-14 season, when he took home the MVP trophy while playing for the Thunder.

On Monday afternoon, Durant was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 32.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in Brooklyn’s 3-1 week. Durant shot 62.9 percent overall and 52.6 percent from 3-point range while posting three 30-point games and scoring 28 in Brooklyn’s fourth game. In addition to leading the league in scoring on 58.6 percent shooting, including 42.4 percent from 3-point range, he’s also averaging 8.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Durant has scored at least 30 points in seven of Brooklyn’s 14 games, the most in the league so far.

Durant went to three straight NBA Finals with the Warriors, winning two titles and two NBA Finals MVPs.

“It’s just another game,” said Durant. “I mean, it’s 15 games into the season. Obviously, they’re the best team in the league and they’re playing at an elite level, but it’s a regular season game. We obviously want to go out there and win in front of our home crown, but we’re not gonna put pressure on ourselves and call this Finals matchup. We’re not even looking at it that way. It’s another opportunity for us to build who we are, figure out what we want to do out there and keep pushing.”

James Harden had 16 points, 13 assists and six rebounds. Harden recorded a double-double for the second game in a row and has handed out at least 10 assists in three straight contests. Patty Mills hit a career-high nine three-pointers on Sunday for 31 points. He had been averaging just 5.8 points on 22.9% shooting in his previous five outings.

Joe Harris (sprained left ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game. He sprained his ankle Sunday. Harris is averaging 11.3 points. He has shot 24-of-40 (.600) from 3-point range across his last seven games after shooting 16-of-46 (.348) in his first six contests. Harris has averaged 12.9 ppg (.579 FG), 4.1 rpg and 1.0 apg in 31.9 mpg in the last seven games (+41). Paul Millsap also will sit due to personal reasons.
