Exciting is the first of many positive words which can be used to describe the WNBA playoffs thus far. And so, things could get very interesting when games resume. But now it’s time to take a look at things and what’s to come for the league so you can continue making your bets against the WNBA odds.

Sky Close to Knocking Off #1 Seed
If you picked the Chicago Sky to win the title when the WNBA playoffs began, well, good for you. They had to clear the Dallas Wings in order to move forward. And then, they took a second surprise win to punch their ticket to the conference finals.
And now, they have managed to take a 2-1 series lead against the Connecticut Sun, who won their final 14 games of the regular season. They held on for an exciting win to open the series before falling short in the second game. And then with some home-cooking, they managed to get the fans hyped up and steal game 3.
The addition of Candace Parker is one of many reasons they have been able to be so successful. While Allie Quigley is burying all the threes, her wife Courtney Vandersloot is making all the key passes. And she hit three key baskets in the game 2’s waning moments after having 0 points prior.
As for the Sun, they have some serious work to do. Their season may end on Tuesday. And if it does, they may have to make some wholesale changes in the front office. There is no excuse. Sure, they were bad a year ago and this was a surprise. But you can’t squander this.
Mercury Close to Ending Aces SeasonLas Vegas was exceptional in the regular season, having finished 24-8. Kelsey Plum was the sixth player of the year, and A’ja Wilson has continued to get better and better. Plus, Liz Cambage was playing great before having to take time off due to contracting COVID-19.
But, they have been compromised in this round. The Phoenix Mercury have found so many ways to exploit their talented opponents. It started in game 2 with Diana Taurasi having a shooting performance for the ages. And she got the team rolling early in what was a massive game 3 blowout.
Britney Griner has looked exceptional, as has Brianna Turner, the two of them both dominating the frontcourt of Vegas in game 3. The home crowd was exceptional, which also included various Phoenix Suns players sitting courtside.
They did lose Sophie Cunningham for what projects to be the rest of the series, but they will find a way to replace her. Considering all the talent they have, plus Skylar Diggins-Smith? They are a dangerous bunch.
#5 and #6 May Play in the Finals
Should the Mercury and Sky both hold on for upsets, they would be part of a unique series. Imagine the #5 and #6 seeds playing in the finals? This isn’t something that happens often. It would make for an incredible series.
