However, GWS has dropped back-to-back contests to Sydney and Port Adelaide to find themselves on the edge of the playoffs.
Essendon has won back-to-back decisions, but not performances the Bombers would brag about. Against West Coast, the worst team in the league, the Bombers were only able to eke out a one-point victory.
The Bombers followed that up by only beating North Melbourne, which is tied with West Coast for the league’s worst record by nine points. GWS will need to put its foot down to get ahead.
