You do have to say that Perez has benefitted from the move to Red Bull Racing to become the teammate to Verstappen, but it also means playing second fiddle to the champion. Perez has finished in the top 3 overall in each of the last 2 seasons and looks to be on pace to do it again in 2024. By this stage last season, Perez had won a couple of races, but he is still looking for his first win of the new season. He has been close, though, finishing 2nd in 3 of the 4 races thus far. He did miss a chance to close the gap at the top, finishing 5th in Austria, a race that Verstappen failed to finish. He finished 8th in his last visit to China, but we can expect much better this weekend.
