WRC Rally Estonia Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

There are 6 races remaining in the WRC season, which means that time is starting to run out. That is important because the lead at the top seems to be getting wider with each passing race, as the chasing pack takes turns moving up and down due to a lack of consistency. It is perhaps still too early to call the championship, but I do have to say that we are edging ever closer. Kalle Rovanpera is the current leader, and he has a real shot at hammering another nail in the coffins of the drivers sitting behind him this weekend in Estonia. Let’s take a look at the WRC Rally betting analysis of the current leaders to see how they might do this weekend.

Kalle Rovanpera

As it stands at the moment, Rovanpera is the clear favorite to end this season as the World Champion. He has accumulated 140 points thus far and is the only driver to have crossed the 100-point mark, which should give you some idea of just how big his lead has become at this stage of the proceedings. His consistency has certainly helped his cause, as he has been no worse than 4th in every race this season and is on a run of 3 straight podium finishes. The bad news for the rest of the drivers is that Rovanpera has won this race in each of the last 2 seasons.

Elfyn Evans

The Welshman is currently sitting in 2nd place overall on 99 points, which could have been a good deal higher had he not been forced to retire in Rally Portugal a couple few races back. Evans does have 1 win this season, with that one coming in Croatia, and this is a race where he has seen some success in the past. He finished 2nd overall in Estonia last year and probably needs a similar type of performance if he is to keep the pressure on the defending champion at the top of the leaderboard.

Sebastian Ogier

I cannot find official word as to whether or not Ogier will be racing this weekend. The multiple time champion announced that he would only race in select rally’s this season, but when he has chosen to run, he has been close to unstoppable, winning 3 of the 5 races that he has taken part in to this point. If we are to assume that he will race this weekend, then he has to be considered a threat to win, just as he would likely be close to the overall lead had he run every race.

Ott Tanak

The 3 drivers sitting behind the leader are all separated by a single point, showing you just how tight this championship race is. Tanak has seen his championship hopes take a real hit in the last couple of races, as he has had a 35th and 6th place finishes in those last 2 races.Picking up just 17 points in those 2 runs has really hurt his chances of getting to the top of the driver standings, so he needs a strong showing in his home nation this weekend. He win in Estonia in 2020 and finished 3rd overall there last year.
