2016 College Football Bowl Trio Of Game Predictions

  

Sun Bowl – ACC vs. Pac-12

When: December 30, 2016Where: El Paso, Tex.Projection: Wake Forest vs. StanfordAnalysis: Wake Forest (6-5) is in fifth place in the ACC Atlantic division and could make an appearance in this contest against a Stanford Cardinal squad (8-3) that sits in third place in the Pac-12 this season. If this pairing does take place, Stanford will be favored by somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen points, although I don’t think it will matter very much as Christian McCaffery and company roll!

Liberty Bowl – Big 12 vs. SEC

When: December 30, 2016Where: Memphis, Tenn.Projection: Baylor vs. LSUAnalysis: If the Baylor Bears (6-4) and LSU Tigers (6-4) meet in the Liberty Bowl, I believe it could turn out to be one of the most lopsided matchups of all of this year’s bowl games despite the fact that both teams underachieved this season.LSU has a pair of super-gifted running back in Leonard Fournette and Derrius Grice and an improving quarterback in Danny Etling. Baylor will be without starting quarterback Seth Russell for the remainder of the season, making the Bears a decisive underdog in this projected pairing. 

Alamo Bowl – Big 12 vs. Pac-12

When: December 29, 2016Where: San Antonio, Tex.Projection: West Virginia vs. ColoradoAnalysis: The Mountaineers (8-2) are ranked 50th nationally in scoring (31.8 ppg) and 44th in points allowed (24.1 ppg) and has an underrated signal-caller in Skyler Howard that has tossed 19 TD passes while rushing for an addition eight scores.You may not know it, but the Colorado Buffaloes (9-2) are very, very good this season. The Buffs rank 32nd in scoring (35.5 ppg) and an even more impressive 13th in points allowed (18.5 ppg). Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay is a do-it-all star that will be playing on Sundays in the near future.
