What is Navy’s Straight Up Prediction this Season?

Since going 11-2 in 2019, Navy has won a total of 11 games the past three seasons. The problem is that Navy’s vaunted rushing attack has fallen apart. In 2019, the Middies averaged 361 yards each game and scored an incredible 52 touchdowns.

Last season, Navy’s rushing attack averaged 245 yards per game. Although the rushing attack ranked fifth in the nation, it led to just 21 points each contest.

The defense played okay in 2022. It allowed 24.3 points per on average and less than 340 yards each game. So if the offense steps it up, the Midshipmen will win more games in 2023 than they did in 2022.

The key for Navy is how well quarterback Tai Lavatai comes back from the injury that derailed last season. If Lavatai is one-hundred percent ready for Navy’s first game versus Notre Dame, who knows?
