Few matchups in modern college football carry as much history as USC vs Oregon.

The Trojans and Ducks dominated both the old Pac-10 and Pac-12 for years, and now both make the jump to the Big Ten — with the Oregon Ducks entering as one of the favorites to reach the College Football Playoff.

USC is trending in the right direction. The Trojans rallied from a 21–0 deficit against the Iowa Hawkeyes this past Saturday, winning 26–21 in a gritty comeback that revealed a team learning how to handle adversity.

Lincoln Riley’s squad should carry that momentum into Eugene. USC covers — and a straight-up upset isn’t out of the question.

Arkansas at Texas -9.5

Texas is the better team, but this matchup hinges on where the Longhorns are mentally after last week’s blowout.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are not good, but they have been competitive recently — including a 23–22 loss at LSU in Baton Rouge. They aren’t quitting, which makes them dangerous as heavy dogs.

The real question lies with the Texas Longhorns. How does Steve Sarkisian rally his team after getting pasted by Georgia? And more importantly — how does Sark stabilize a mentally fragile Arch Manning at quarterback?

The Longhorns’ season is wobbling, and this feels like a spot where they could fold. Arkansas is worth a small moneyline stab — and a larger play with the points.

The opening line gives bettors a chance to jump on BYU at a fair number — but this one isn’t as simple as it looks.

The BYU Cougars bounced back from their loss to soon-to-be Top 5 Texas Tech by hammering TCU 44–13. Cincinnati, meanwhile, has dropped two straight.

However, the Cincinnati Bearcats losses came against quality opponents, including a now 7–3 Arizona team. The Bearcats also nearly upset BYU earlier this season.

Now back at home, Cincinnati has a chance to correct course and derail BYU’s CFP hopes. Quality programs don’t stay down long — and the Bearcats should rise here.

Oregon has been rolling offensively, and USC hasn’t shown they can keep pace. I’m taking Oregon -10½.
