Ole Miss Rebels Betting for Upcoming 2023 Football Season

Ole Miss Rebels Betting for Upcoming 2023 Football Season

Ole Miss appeared to be a contender for the SEC West Division title last season but faded down the stretch. The Rebels opened with a 7-0 record, then ended up finishing 8-5. The slide to end the season may have prompted Ole Miss to be aggressive in pursuing more quarterbacks in the transfer portal.

The Rebels brought in two quarterbacks to compete with returning starter Jaxson Dart. Ole Miss is hoping to find the right quarterback that will make them a competitor in the SEC West Division. Here’s a look at what to expect from Ole Miss this season.

Let’s see if the Ole Miss Rebels have what it takes to back the odds to win the National Championship this season.

Will Jaxon still Be Throwing Darts?

Dart threw for 2,974 yards and threw for 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season after transferring from Southern California. Despite a strong first season, Ole Miss brought in Oklahoma State’s Spencer Sanders and LSU’s Walker Howard to compete with Dart.

Sanders started for four seasons for the Cowboys. Last season, Sanders saw his competition percentage drop below 50 percent. He passed for 2,642 yards and 17 touchdowns.

People Think the Rebels Should Be Solid

Ole Miss has won 18 games in the past two seasons under Lane Kiffin. The Rebels’ over/.under for their win total is 7.5 games. Ole Miss has the fifth-best odds to win the division; the Rebels are +1500.

The Rebels are +5500 to win the SEC.

Ole Miss Has a Trick Non-conference Matchup

The Rebels shouldn’t have too many problems taking down Mercer, Georgia Tech, and Louisiana-Monroe. Ole Miss, however, will make a Sept. 9 road trip to Yulman Stadium to take on Tulane that won’t be a walk in the park. The Green Wave beat USC in the Sugar Bowl last season and was one of the top teams nationally.

Tulane is returning solid players from the last team’s roster and won’t want to miss out on a chance to beat a SEC team.

SEC will Test Ole Miss Right Away

Mississippi knows exactly where they stand in the SEC standings by the end of September. Ole Miss will open conference play at Alabama before coming home to play LSU and Arkansas. Last season, the Rebels lost to all three teams.

The Crimson Tide and Tigers are set to once again to contend for prizes on the national stage, while the Razorbacks are hoping to bounce back from a tough end to last season.

Early November will Be Tough Too

The Rebels will open in November with Texas A&M. Ole Miss will follow up the next week with a trip to defending national champion Georgia. Those teams will both more than likely grab a win over Ole Miss.

Ole Miss Rebels Season Prediction

Kiffin better figures out the quarterback situation sooner rather than later. The SEC West is a division that features several national championship contenders who won’t want to slip up against the Rebels. Ole Miss will be a solid team, but will struggle to get to seven wins and will stay under the win total.
