Sentry Tournament of Champions Odds and and Betting Picks for the Upcoming PGA Tour Event

Welcome to the 2024 PGA Tour season! The first week of January has been the host of the Sentry since 1999. Last season, Jon Rahm came away as the winner, with Collin Morikawa finishing second. The winning share for the 2024 Sentry is $3.6M.

It’s time to take a closer look at the upcoming The Sentry tournament so you can bet against the PGA Tour lines.

2024 Tournament of Champions | 71st edition of the Tournament of Champions golf tournament

Scottie Scheffeler +500

Scottie won the Hero World Challenge by three strokes after firing a 68 in his final round. We know how good Scheffeler can be when he is at the top of his game. While it may be early, he still has the most talent in the field. The 27 year old from Dallas has been a pro since 2018 and seems to be coming into his own even more. There is a reason he is the world’s #1 starting 2024.

Viktor Hovland +900

Hovland is coming off a 10th place finish at the Hero World Challenge. Outside of the PGA Tour,  he played the DP World Tour in November, and came away as the runner up. A season ago, Hovland played in 49 events, which is one of the most in all of the PGA Tour. The 26 year old from Norway was the Tour Champion in August, which netted him $18M. That came after the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields.

Patrick Cantlay +1200

Cantlay is the latest to discuss not leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf. The 31 year old from Long Beach has now been on the tour for 10 seasons. A season ago, Cantlay finished 5th at the Tour Championship, which brought him $3M in winnings. Cantlay is one of the most consistent golfers in the game, so he is always going to be around the top of the leaderboard.

Max Homa +1200

Homa finished 13th in the Hero World Challenge. Before that, Homa won the Nedbank Golf Challenge in early November. The 33 year old comes into the season ranked 7th. He has been a professional since 2013 and continues to find his groove. Homa finished with a Top 10 in the FedEx, BMW and Tour Championship. Those three brough him a combined $2.2M just for the month of August.

Collin Morikawa +1200

After winning the ZOZO Championship in October, he went to the Hero World Challenge and finished 7th place. We love the way Morikawa fits this course.  He starts the season 13th in the rankings after injuries plagued him a bit last season. If healthy, this is a guy to look out for in 2024. Despite the struggles, he still came away with a T6 at the Tour Championship in 2023.

Others in Consideration:

  • Jordan Spieth +2000

  • Matt Fitzpatrick +2200

  • Tyrell Hatton +2500

  • Tommy Fleetwood +2500

  • Tom Kim +2500

2025 RBC Heritage Odds

In the end, we are going to make two picks to win this event. Our first winner is Collin Morikawa at 12/1 odds. Our second winner is Xander Schauffele at 14/1. Morikawa obviously enjoys this course, and has some good history here. Schauffele won the event in 2019, and came in runner up in 2020. We expect a great event. Glad to have golf back! Best of luck!
