Connections for four of the most highly regarded 3 year old colts in North America have confirmed for the Jim Dandy. Brad Cox puts the saddle on two of them, Hit Show and Angel of Empire.

Of the two, Angel of Empire will attract the most action. The favorite could end up Todd Pletcher trained Forte, but Disarm will attract action for sure. The Steve Asmussen runner won the Grade 2 Matt Winn with a solid speed rating.

Linda Rice trained Gun It hopes to make the leap from the allowance ranks to a Grade 1. If Gun It repeats the effort in the last, a victory with a great speed rating, who knows? Maybe, the Rice runner pulls off the forward leap.

Synthesis, Dean Deliver, Gunite, and Elite Power are the other four confirmed runners. Elite Power will go off at under even money. The Bill Mott trainee has won 5 straight, including taking home the Breeders’ Cup Sprint last November.

Only two are confirmed for the Grade 1 Bing Crosby. The Chosen Vron hails from the J. Eric Kruljac barn.
Even after others enter, The Chosen Vron may go off the chalk. The Kruljac runner has won seven straight. For sure, this is a step up but Kruljac is a cagey horseman.

The other confirmed runner, Dallas Stewart trained Hoist the Gold, heads into this off an allowance victory at Ellis Park in the last. Hoist the Gold had been running against equines like Cody’s Wish. So this is a step down in class.
