For team that went 104-58 a season ago, losing in the first round of the playoffs just was not acceptable. The Braves still have their offensive stud in Ronald Acuna Jr. The Braves lost some of their depth in pitching, but added Chris Sale and Aaron Bummer to the mix. Jarred Kelenic will get a fresh start for the Braves as well. This was an outstanding offensive team a season ago. They will rely on some veteran pitching to get the job done, but this is easily the most talented team in the division. The Braves are +450 to win it all, and have a total of 101.5 wins as their total.

Second Place: Philadelphia Phillies +310

It would see the only team that has a chance to take down the Braves in the National League East is the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies went back to the postseason a season ago, but fell to Arizona in the National League Championship Series. They won 90 games in the regular season. Philadelphia kept Aaron Nola at the front of their rotation, and an already potent lineup added Whit Merrifield as a utility guy. This team can really hammer the baseball, we will see if they can keep their nice run of seasons going.

Third Place: New York Mets +1100

The Mets were a disaster last season. New York finished the season with a 75-87 record. The Mets have a win total of 81.5 this season, and are 35/1 odds to win the World Series. The Mets have some new names in their rotation such as Luis Severino, Sean Manaea and Adrian Houser. Harrison Bader was about the only piece added to their lineup. They will look for big seasons out of Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor and Starling Marte if they want to compete at the top of the divisional race.

Fourth Place: Miami Marlins +1600

The Marlins went 84-78 a season ago, and look to have a roster that could be back in the postseason mix this season. The Marlins lost Jorge Soler, which will hurt their pop. Miami will want a better season out of Jazz Chisholm. The rotation will consist of Jesus Luzardo, Eury Perez, Braxton Garrett, Edward Cabrear and Trevor Rogers. It is an impressive rotation, but one that still needs to prove itself. The Marlins are +1600 to win the division, their win total is set at 78.5 wins.

Fifth Place: Washington Nationals +9000

After winning 71 games a season ago, oddsmakers have put the Nationals win total at 66.5 for this season. The Nationals are +9000 to win the division and +15000 to take down the WOrld Series. We expect a long season in DC in 2024. CJ Abrams, Josiah Gray and Mackenzie Gore are all guys the Nationals would like to see some steps taken from. Guys like Lane Thomas, Joey Meneses and Stone Garrett are returning following solid seasons. Betting against the Nationals may be the better choice for 2024.
