It has been a disastrous season for the Yankees, who find themselves down in the AL East cellar, sitting a game below .500. There have been very few bright spots for this team, but you have to say that Gerrit Cole has done his part while others have struggled a great deal. Cole comes into this week with a 12-4 record and an ERA of 2.95 and is a player that deserves a whole lot better than he is getting with the Yankees. He has won his last 2 starts, giving up just 3 ER in 13.2 innings of work, so I think we can expect more of the same from him on Tuesday night versus Detroit, the team he beat last time out.

The Braves are very likely going to head into the postseason as the team with the best regular season record. The Mariners have been strong in the second half of the season, surging to the top of the West, albeit with just a single game separating the top 3 teams in the division.
