LA Dodgers (+325)

The Dodgers started the season as the favorites to win it all and nothing has changed after Week 1 of the MLB season. The Dodgers are 10-4 in the early going and have already opened up a 4-game lead in the NL West. One thing that I find to be rather interesting is that the Dodgers have the worst run differential of all the division leaders at this point. That is due, in large part, to the fact that they have surrendered 65 runs already. That has to be seen as something of a surprise, but the reality is that they are far and away the best team in the division and could have things locked up rather early.

Atlanta Braves (+450)

Much like the Dodgers, the expectation is that the Braves will have their division locked up sooner rather than later. Atlanta has won 7 of their opening 10 games and have opened up a 2 ½ game lead in the NL East. They are in fact the only team in the division to be over the .500 mark at this point, which is surprising, as we expected the Phillies to be a little better than what they have shown to this point. There is still a lot of time for that to change, but for now, the Braves look like a lock to win the East. Their run differential is currently sitting at +26, which is very good through 10 games.

New York Yankees (+800)

If you think that the Yankees are going to be the team to win the World Series this season, now might be the time to get that wager on, as they are out to an absolutely amazing start. The Yankees are currently on a 4-game winning streak and are sitting at 10-2 this season, which has them 2 ½ games up on the surprising Red Sox in the AL East. They are top 3 in runs scored in the American League, driving in 59 runs through their opening 12 games, and they are also performing well defensively. Look for these odds to shorten dramatically.

Houston Astros (+900)

It’s never a good idea to hit the panic button after a little over a week of the new season, but there has to be some reason for concern for the Houston Astros. They started their season by getting swept by the Yankees, which doesn’t look that awful when you consider what the Yankees have done to this point. Since then, Houston is 4-5, so again, not great. The good news is that the West is still very tight at the moment, so plenty of time for them to get back on track.
