76ers Moving Forward in the Betting Lines and the NBA Playoffs

The Philadelphia 76ers made quick work of Brooklyn, sweeping the Nets in four games. The Sixers get a vacation while we watch and see who wins the surprisingly competitive series between the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks.

While we wait to see who Philly meets in the second round, let’s take a look at the 76ers’ prospects and see how the betting lines for the NBA Playoffs move around for the rest of the games.

2022 NBA Playoffs: April 16, 2022 – June 19, 2022

If the 76ers Face the Atlanta Hawks in the Second Round . . .

In their first series against the 76ers, Philadelphia played like the Eastern Conference’s team to beat. Although that may not be true because the Nets entered the playoffs not nearly as formidable as they looked when the season started, Philly did impress.

If the Sixers face Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks, things should go well for Philadelphia and their fans. The 76ers match up great with Young and the ATL. James Harden can match Trae’s output while nobody on Atlanta’s squad, not even Clint Capela, can hang with Joel Embiid.

The Hawks should beat the 76ers in 4, maybe 5, games.

If the 76ers Face the Boston Celtics in the Second Round . . .

Beating the Boston Celtics should be more difficult than beating the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers matchup okay with Boston.

But the Celtics’ top two stars, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, can take over a game at any moment. Harden will find it difficult to stick with either one of the C’s stars.

The 76ers will have an outside shot to beat the Celtics. It could happen, but it likely won’t happen.

If the 76ers Beat the Celtics or Hawks in the Second Round . . .

Let’s say the 76ers do beat the Boston Celtics and end up playing either the New York Knicks or the Miami Heat, what will happen? See below for predictions.

NBA Eastern Conference Finals Predictions

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks

76ers versus Knicks should be epic. The Sixers matchup well with the Knicks. It won’t be easy, but Harden and Embiid should handle Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle.

So unless an injury occurs to either of the Philadelphia 76ers top two players, Philly should do just enough to squeak by the Knicks.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat

Beating the Knicks should be much easier than beating the Miami Heat. Jimmy Butler is playing out of mind right now.

Jimmy Buckets followed up a 56 points performance versus the Milwaukee Bucks with a 42 point performance in Game 5 to knock the 1-seed Bucks out of the playoffs.

If Miami gets by the Knicks, they for sure would challenge the 76ers. Heat in 7 is the prediction.
