NBA Championship Odds To Win in the Week 7 of the 2023/24 Season

Through the opening couple of months of the NBA season, we have seen teams play in the first in-season tournament, which has proven to be a lot of fun for the fans. 2023 NBA Finals Odds to Win MyBookie Sportsbook | Finals: June 2024 | Week 7 of the Season

That tournament is at the semi-final stage now, and you have to wonder if the team that ultimately wins it will have some great prep for the playoffs when they arrive, or if this particular tournament really is no indication of what to expect in the postseason proper. The reality is that a lot can change between now and then, so my feeling is that the in-season tournament is just a way to spice things up in what is usually a pedestrian part of the season. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the current odds to win the NBA Championship.

Boston Celtics

While the Celtics are out of the tournament, they are still considered the favorite to win it all this season. They are currently sitting with a record of 15-5, good enough for top spot in the Eastern Conference, but there are a couple of teams hot on their heels. The one thing that really stands out with the Celtics is their home record, which is a perfect 9-0 at the moment. If they can get that #1 seed, then home court advantage is going to be huge.

Denver Nuggets

It’s far to suggest that the Nuggets have cooled off of late, going 5-5 in their last 10 games and crashing out of the tournament with a loss to the LA Lakers on Tuesday night. That aside, this does feel like more of a temporary dip in form as opposed to a bigger issue that could prove to be problematic. They are another team that has thrived at home, going 9-0 in their own building to this point.

Milwaukee Bucks

It was not the best start to the season for the Milwaukee Bucks, but they seem to be getting into a groove now. They have made it to the semi-final of the in-season tournament and have now won 8 of their last 10 games overall. They are within a half game of the Celtics at the top of the Eastern Conference, and I would not be surprised to see them take over at #1 in the next week or so.

Phoenix Suns

We are still waiting to see the best from the Suns, who are currently in the play-in zone, holding the #7 seed in the West. There are some real signs of life, though, as they have won 7 of their last 10 games overall. They do need to get better at home, where they are playing .500 ball at the moment. If they can improve in that area, watch for them beginning to climb the ranks in the West.

Philadelphia 76ers

After a hot start, the 76ers have cooled off rather dramatically and have now won just 4 games in their last 10. Despite that run, they are still sitting in the #4 spot in the East and are just 2 ½ games out of the lead. They need to get back to winning soon, though, or they will lose more ground and see their current odds get a whole lot worse.

NBA Championship Odds To Win in the Week 6 of the 2023/24 Season

When is the right time to bet on the team that you think is going to win the NBA Championship? Ask that to a number of different bettors and you are likely going to get a variety of different answers. Some like to get their wager in before the season starts, while others adopt a wait and see attitude, waiting to see how teams come out of the gate and how their early play affects the overall odds. With 6 weeks of the season gone, I think it’s more than fair to suggest that we have seen enough of each team to get an idea of how their season might play out. Things might well change, though, including the odds to win the NBA Championship, so let’s take a moment to look at the odds as they are right now.

Boston Celtics (+350)

No real surprise here when you consider that the Celtics currently have the most wins (14) in the league, as well as a 1-game lead in the Eastern Conference. They are still unbeaten at home, winning all 8 games to this point, and have a 13-3 record against other teams in the conference. They are setting a torrid early pace and if they can keep that going, you can bet that their current odds will shorten a little further.

Denver Nuggets (+400)

The Nuggets came into the season as the defending champions, but they have not had it all their way in the early going. They are starting to put it all together now, though, and have won 3 in a row to get to 13-5 on the season, which has them a game out of the top spot in the Western Conference. It is going to be interesting to see if they can keep their current winning run going in the coming weeks.

Milwaukee Bucks (+410)

The Bucks made some moves in the offseason that had a lot of bettors jumping on the bandwagon. Things did not go smoothly for the Bucks in the rarely going, but they seem to be gelling now, winning 3 in a row and 8 of their last 10 games. If you think the Bucks are the team that are going to go on and win it all, now might be the time to get some money on them, as I feel these odds are not going to get any better than they are now.

Phoenix Suns (+680)

This is another team that got out to a slow start but who appear to be getting hot now. Still, the Suns are 11-7 and down in 5 th in the West, which is certainly not as good as we expected from this group. They have won 7 of their last 10 and are starting to move in the right direction, so again, these odds might be as good as it gets.

Philadelphia 76ers (+1350)

For me, this might be the dark horse pick of the bunch at the moment. The 76ers have cooled off a little after a fast start and have been playing .500 ball over the last 10 games, but that early form suggests they might be able to get back into a groove at some point. The 76ers might be worth the risk.
