NCAAF 2020 Season Week 13 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on November 24, 2020

As we edge closer to the College Football Playoff Committee putting out their first rankings of the season, we have to think about how they are going to come up with a top 4. In most cases, the top teams in the country are apparent to everyone at this stage of the season, but the nature of this season’s schedule is going to make it very tough to compare teams. If you have an unbeaten team that has played 3 or 4 games fewer than a team with 1 loss, who do you put on top? This year, perhaps more than any other, we are going to see fans debate who deserves to be in the top 4. Everything may still sort itself out on the field, as we still have quite a bit of football to be played. Let’s start by taking a look at our O/U picks for Week 13 so you can go ahead and bet against their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks for Week 13 | 2020 College Football Betting

Iowa State Cyclones at Texas Longhorns (OVER 57)

The race to be in the Big 12 Championship Game is about as tight as it gets, but things may become a little clearer after this game. The Iowa State Cyclones are currently at the top, going 6-1 in conference games, while the Texas Longhorns are sitting just off the pace at 4-2. Both of these teams are on winning streaks right now, but for the purposes of this piece, all we are really concerned with is the point total, which is set at a rather lofty 57 points. I will certainly admit that going with the OVER here is a bit of a risk, especially since Iowa State has seen 13 of their last 17 games go the opposite direction. On the flipside, Texas has seen 5 of their last 7 games versus conference foes go OVER, which is why I am leaning that way with the Longhorns at home.

NC State Wolfpack at Syracuse Orange (UNDER 52)

We have what looks to be a bit of a mismatch here, as the 6-3 NC State Wolfpack look to improve their record against a Syracuse team that has just 1 win in 9 attempts this season. After a stretch of games where the Wolfpack saw the point total go over, they come into this game on the heels of back to back games where the UNDER has hit. This weekend, they will face a Syracuse team that is having some real problems getting points on the board, an issue that was highlighted in their last game, where they were blanked by Louisville. They are now on a run of 3 straight games where the UNDER has hit. Combine that with the fact that 6 of the last 8 meetings between these two have gone UNDER and you have a straightforward pick.

Pittsburgh Panthers at Clemson Tigers (OVER 54 ½)

You can bet that the Clemson Tigers are going to be coming into this game with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. They were set to have Trevor Lawrence return to the line-up last weekend versus Florida State after missing 2 games due to COVID, but the Seminoles postponed the game sur to virus concerns, which the Tigers seem to view as unfounded. Everything in this one points directly to the OVER, starting with the fact that the Panthers have seen the OVER hit in each of their last 6 games, while it has been the same story for Clemson in 5 of their last 6. Furthermore, 10 of the last 15 games that Clemson has played in November have gone OVER.
