Predicting 2019 College Football Betting Upsets

Written by on August 6, 2019

Every season, we can expect big upsets in college football. 2019 should be no different. The largest upsets often happen in games where we least expect it. That might be the case this year where two massive upsets should happen in Week 1 and Week 13. Check out 6 of the biggest College Football betting upset predictions for the new 2019 NFL Season!

Top 6 Upsets for the 2019 College Football Season

Week 1 – South Florida to beat Wisconsin

One of the biggest upsets could happen in Week 1. The Wisconsin Badgers must travel to South Florida to take on the Bulls. The Badgers have a Heisman Trophy contender in running back Jonathan Taylor. Unfortunately for Taylor, he must play behind a rebuilt offensive line.

Charlie Strong will ensure the Bulls exploit that newbie line. Not only that, but South Florida played above their talent level early on last season. They could do the same this season.

Week 1 – Akron to beat Illinois

Akron might just be the better team in this Week 1 matchup. The Zips return one of the most experienced offensive lines in college football. Illinois’ defense will have massive trouble containing Akron quarterback Kato Nelson. He could dominate both through the air and on the ground in this.

Week 2 – Cincinnati to beat Ohio State

It’s difficult to get excited about Ohio State. The Buckeyes will be a good football team. They lost quarterback Dwayne Haskins and DE Nick Bosa to the NFL, though. Not only that, coach Urban Meyer retired. That’s a lot of change over. The Buckeyes face a Cincinnati team that only allowed 17.2 points per game last season. The Bearcats could be a surprise Top 10 squad in 2019.

Week 4 – Notre Dame to beat Georgia

Notre Dame must travel to Georgia. That gives the Bulldogs an advantage. The Fighting Irish should have one of the top offenses in college football, though. Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book plays behind an offensive line that returns four starters. The wide receiver unit is fantastic. The defense is loaded at end while the safeties, Jalen Elliott and Alohi Gillman, are an imposing pair. Golden Domers over Dawgs could happen.

Week 13 – Arizona State to beat Oregon

Oregon is supposed to be one of the top teams in the nation. The rumor is that NFL scouts are drooling over Ducks’ quarterback Justin Herbert. Although it’s probably true, Oregon faces a massive test in Week 13 when they take on ASU in Tempe.

The Sun Devils could control the pace of football games this season. The offensive line is experienced while running back Eno Benjamin might be the best in the Pac 12. ASU’s defense lost only 3 regular season starters. This could be Oregon’s trap game.

Week 13 – Texas A&M to beat Georgia

A&M’s rush defense last season only allowed 95.2 yards per. The Aggies will force Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm to throw to his wide receivers. Georgia’s receivers could be their Achilles heel.

By this battle, the Bulldogs will have faced Notre Dame, and have traveled to both Florida and Auburn. Elite programs like UGA always field inexperienced players. That inexperience could bite the Dawgs here.
