This is a critical weekend in college football for several different reasons. The teams who are on the outside looking in at the top 4 need to keep winning as the regular season runs down, as they look to impress the Playoff Committee. The first national Rankings will be released on November 2nd, so that is when we will get a true representation of how the playoffs might look and what teams need to do in the final few weeks to get in. As we have seen this season, the top 4 has been a precarious place to be, so we can almost certainly expect to see things change in the final few weeks of the season. For now, the focus is all on the Week 9 slate of games and there are some big ones in there. Let’s take a look at a few matches that should be grabbing your attention so you can bet against their NCAAF odds.
NCAA Football Betting – Week 9: Top Games to Bet On
Michigan Wolverines at Michigan State Spartans
It doesn’t get much better than a Big Ten East Division matchup, especially when the two teams in question are sitting at 7-0 on the season. This is, for all intents and purposes, an elimination game, as the loser of this one would be behind the 8-ball with very little time to get back into the conference championship and playoff picture. Both teams will be well aware of this, and also aware that Ohio State are suddenly in form and creeping up from behind. A ton of pressure in this game and easily the one to watch from the early games.
Georgia Bulldogs Vs Florida Gators
Given how the Florida Gators have struggled this season, you could argue that some of the shine has been taken off this game, but try and tell that to fans of both teams. This is always the biggest game on the schedule for both teams, as there is a legitimate amount of hatred for one another that very often spills over onto the field. Georgia will be out looking to stay at #1 in the nation, while the Gators will be trying to play the role of spoiler against their biggest rivals. This game should be an absolute blast to watch and wager on.
Ole Miss Rebels at Auburn Tigers
This is a huge game for both teams, as the possibility of heading to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game is on the table for each of them. If Ole Miss wins here, they would still need Alabama to lose again in conference play this season. If Auburn wins, they still have the Iron Bowl to come in the final week of the regular season, so they would, in effect, be in control of their own destiny in terms of winning the SEC West. This game is absolutely huge for those very reasons.
Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio State Buckeyes
Power 5 teams looking to get into the playoffs can help their cause by winning their conference championship game. This is especially true with teams who already have a loss in the regular season. That is where the Ohio State Buckeyes find themselves right now, and with a pair of unbeaten teams ahead of them in the Big Ten standings, they need to win out. It all starts with a home tilt against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, which you will be able to watch in primetime.
