Paris 2024 Olympic Shooting: Expert Picks, Odds & Betting Analysis

While we are still a couple of days away from the Opening Ceremony at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, we will see some sports take to the field today, with soccer in particular in the spotlight.

It’s going to be fun to get an early glimpse at what is to come, but for most fans, the real action begins after the fanfare of the Opening Ceremony on Friday.

My Olympic Shooting Analysis

Among the sports that are sure to catch the eye is shooting.

As opposed to being a single event, shooting has a lot of betting options available to those who want to check it out.

We have the men’s and women’s events, as well as a mixed event, all of which are split into categories such as skeet, trap, 10m air pistol, and much more.

Key Dates in Olympic Shooting

If you want to get in on the action on the shooting event but aren’t sure where to begin, you are in luck.

On the 26th, there are 3 separate pre-event training sessions that you can check out.

These sessions might well help you identify the shooters that you should be keeping an eye on, and while not all the different shooting events are covered in this session, you might well see enough to get you started.

These pre-event training sessions are dotted throughout the entire Olympics, so be sure to check out the full shooting schedule to give yourself the best shot at winning your bets.

The main competitions begin on the 27th and continue all the way through to August 5th.

Who Is Going to Win Olympic Shooting?

It would take a lot more space than we have here to break down all the shooting events in the Olympics, so we are going to take something of a different approach.

Instead of trying to pick out individual winners, we are going to talk a little about the history of the sport in the Olympics and the nations that have dominated.

Before we get into that, we once again need to repeat that the pre-event training sessions are easily the best way to get a handle on the top shooters.

USA & China

In terms ow shooting medals, it is the United States that leads the way, winning a total of 115 medals over the years.

The US won 3 gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, but that was only good enough for 2nd overall, with China picking up 6 medals.

China also led the way in Rio, with the Italians matching them in terms of total medals for shooting at that event.

If you look at the odds for each of the individual shooting tournaments, it becomes very clear that these nations are once again likely to be among the medals.

We are not here to tell you how to wager, as that is always entirely up to you, but if this is a sport that you are not totally familiar with, it may well be worth watching some sessions before you dive in.
