Bayern’s odds imply they’re close to a lock to win the Champions League

Based on the odds, Bayern should have no trouble winning the 2020-2021 Champions League. Bayern dropped another +25 points after beating Salzburg 6-2.

The win definitely impressed. Five players on Bayern’s squad scored goals, including Robert Lewandowski, who knocked in a couple, a penalty kick at the 21 minute mark and a goal at the 88 mark. Rasmus Kristensen, Jerome Boateng, Leroy Sane, and Lucas Hernandez all scored as well.

Based on the win, Bayern does look tough, but nobody believed Salzburg would pose a challenge. Bayern had a tougher time over the weekend in their match versus rival Dortmund. Although Bayern pulled out a win, Dortmund hung with Munich, scoring two goals in the 3-2 loss.

The Champions League picks it up later on this month. Bayern should be the favorite, but after watching the match versus Dortmund, their backers may want to consider laying down dollars at the low odds.

Money flows to EPL squads Liverpool and Chelsea

Both Liverpool and Chelsea show lower odds this week than last week. Pool drew with Man City 1-1 over the weekend.

Liverpool, the 2018 Champions League winners, have outscored their three UCL opponents a combined 8-1. Granted, 5 of the 8 goals happened in a single match versus Atalanta, but Pool’s group is much tougher than most give it credit for being. Both Atalanta and Ajax are solid squads in their respective leagues.

Chelsea also made an odds move. The Blues are now at +2000 after putting a 3-0 beat down on Stade Rennes in their UEFA Champions League match and grabbing a 4-1 victory versus Sheffield in an EPL game.

Both appear set to move into the knockout stage. Again, Liverpool won in 2018. So, they’re an obvious contender. Chelsea? The Blues get better with every match. They deserve a look as a live underdog.

Real Madrid and Barcelona remain La Liga’s best hope for a UEFA Champions League title

Real beat Inter Milano 3-2 while Barcelona beat Kiev 2-1. Barca had an excuse for the poor showing. In their Champions League match before facing Kiev, Messi’s squad dominated Juventus. It makes sense that Barcelona might take a backward step.

Real Madrid offers underlay odds. Beating Inter was nice, but Real fell to Valladolid 4-1 over the weekend. Madrid doesn’t appear to have it this season.

The UEFA Champions League picks it on Tuesday, Nov. 24. This weekend, make sure to check out matches in the UEFA Nations League.
