Costa Rica has impressed as much as Canada has. Los Ticos began their quest for CONCACAF glory with a 3-1 victory over Guadeloupe. On July 16, Costa Rica beat Suriname 2-1. Then in their match with Jamaica on July 20, the Costa Ricans prevailed 1-0.
Canada offers slightly better odds. But Los Ticos is the play. The main reason why is because Costa Rica has that look of a Gold Cup winner. In the victory over Jamaica, Costa Rica allowed Jamaica to control possession.
Los Ticos didn’t require a victory. So they played a defense first match. Expect Costa Rica to be more aggressive on Sunday. Although missing Davies has yet to hurt Canada, it should in this match. Los Ticos moves to the semifinals.
