FIFA World Cup Qualifying Matches

  • When: Thursday, March 25

Group B

  • Sweden / Georgia

Georgia shouldn’t have much chance against Sweden. But after odds come out, underdog Georgia could be the better play. Save for a surprising 2-1 victory against Croatia on Nov. 14, Sweden has lost 4 of their last 5 international matches.

The Portuguese dominated the Swedes 3-0 on Oct. 17. On Nov. 17, France beat Sweden 4-2. Georgia’s form doesn’t suggest they’ll win this. But Georgia could force a draw. Georgia has drawn in 3 of their last 5. So the possibility of a draw exists.

Soccer Pick: Draw

  • Spain / Greece

Greece doesn’t really believe it can beat Spain. Then again, the Greeks have 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5. Two of the wins were against Moldova and the other came versus Cyprus.

Spain’s overall form doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence. On Oct. 13, the Ukraine beat Spain 1-0. The Spanish drew with the Netherlands 1-1 on Nov. 11. On Nov. 14, Spain drew 1-1 with Switzerland.

Although Spain’s overall form should give Greece confidence, Spain’s latest match won’t. The Spanish dominated Germany 6-0. The win alone makes Spain the pick on the moneyline. If you’re searching for better odds, check out the handicap. Once MyBookie posts it, Spain should be a -2 ½, if not -3 ½, chalk.

Soccer Pick: Spain

Group C
  • Bulgaria / Switzerland

Switzerland is the name team in this match. But the Swiss don’t show much better form than Bulgaria. Both teams have a single win in their last 5.

The difference? The Swiss beat the Ukraine 3-0 in their last match on Nov. 17. Switzerland also drew 3-3 with Germany on Oct. 13 and 1-1 with Spain on Nov. 14. Is the win over the Ukraine and draws versus Germany and Spain enough to back the Swiss on the handicap and moneyline? Yep.

Soccer Pick: Switzerland

  • Italy / Northern Ireland

Italy is on a 3-match winning streak. On Nov. 11, the Italians dominated Estonia 4-0. The Azzurri blasted Poland 2-0 on Nov. 15. Then on Nov. 18, they beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0.

Northern Ireland’s form isn’t close. In their last 5, Austria beat them twice, Slovakia and Norway beat them once, and the Northern Irish drew 1-1 with Romania. Here’s another match where soccer betting players should consider the chalk on the handicap.

Soccer Pick: Italy
