The top match of the weekend happens on Saturday when Atletico heads to Camp Nou to take on Messi and Barcelona. Check out LaLiga odds, analysis, and a free pick for Atletico versus Barcelona as well as this weekend’s other great LaLiga matches.

Top LaLiga Games to Watch this Week (May 7th – May 10th)

Friday, May 7th Match

  • Elche +1 ½ (-196) / Real Sociedad -1 ½ (+145)

Sociedad isn’t playing as well as one might expect. The home team in this dropped their last match on May 1 to Huesca. Elche dropped their May 1 match to Atletico. The difference in quality of opponent is massive. But Real Sociedad offers much better handicap odds. They’re not necessarily an overlay at +145. They’re worth a look over Elche at the odds, though.

Soccer Pick: Real Sociedad

Saturday, May 8th Matches

  • Levante +256 / Alaves -102

In their last 5, Alaves has 2 wins, 2 draws, and a loss. The loss happened in their last match. Eibar didn’t just beat Alaves. They dusted Alaves 3-0. Levante has a chance to win this. But the road squad must break a 4-match win streak. Still, on Nov. 8 last year, these two drew. The draw looks promising.

Soccer Pick: Draw

  • Huesca +117 / Cadiz +233

Both Huesca and Cadiz head into this contest after winning their last. Huesca beat Real Sociedad 1-0. Cadiz beat Granada 1-0. Last September, Cadiz beat Huesca 2-0. In the head-to-head before, these two drew. The odds make home team Cadiz an overlay.

Soccer Pick: Cadiz

  • Osasuna +309 / Athletic Bilbao -109

Bilbao has won 2-of-3. Both wins impressed. On April 25, AB beat Atletico 2-1. Then on May 3, Bilbao upset Sevilla on the road 1-0. Osasuna has lost their last couple. So even though the road team beat the home squad in the last head-to-head, Athletic Bilbao gets the nod.

Soccer Pick: Athletic Bilbao

  • Atletico Madrid +318 / Barcelona -131

In their last, the two La Liga powers bounced back from upset losses. Atletico bested Elche 1-0 on May 1, getting back on track after an April 25 loss to Bilbao. Granada upset Barca 2-1 on April 29. Messi and his mates beat Valencia 3-2 on May 2. Atletico won the last head-to-head. This is a huge match because Barcelona is 2 points behind Primera Division leader Atletico on the standings. Which top player, Suarez for Atletico or Messi for Barcelona, gets it done? Barca is the home team. But Atletico offers odds that make them an overlay. So we’re thinking Suarez.

Soccer Pick: Atletico Madrid

Sunday, May 9th Matches

  • Eibar +258 / Getafe +112

Eibar won their last match. Getafe lost their last. These two drew twice in 2020. Another draw looks more than possible.

Soccer Pick: Draw

  • Valladolid +247 / Valencia +106

Valladolid has drawn in 4 straight. Valencia lost to Barcelona in their last. But the home team in this played great, scoring 2 goals against Barca. Also, Valencia won the last head-to-head. Give the home team a chance.

Soccer Pick: Valencia

  • Celta de Vigo +247 / Villareal -102

Celta de Vigo is playing great. They’ve won their last couple of matches. The road team may have a chance because Villareal faces Arsenal on the road on Thursday in a Europa League match. But even though Celta has a shot, they’re tough to back. Villareal blasted Celta de Vigo 4-0 in January. Villareal is the better play.

Soccer Pick: Villareal

  • Sevilla +222 / Real Madrid +112

Sevilla had been on a tear, winning 4 straight, before dropping a match to Athletic Bilbao by a goal. Real Madrid has a much more important matchup than this, a UCL game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, earlier in the week. RM may not be in the right mood to battle Sevilla. Although Sevilla shouldn’t beat Real, they could force a draw.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Monday, May 10th Match

  • Granada +318 / Betis -135

Betis has played in 5 straight draws. Monday’s match could be the one where Betis notches a win. Then again, even though Granada has lost 2-of-4, the victories were against Barcelona and a great 4-1 performance against Eibar. At the odds, the road team is an overlay.

Soccer Pick: Granada
