Top Bundesliga Games to Watch this Week (Mar. 5th – 7th)

Friday, March 19th Game

  • RB Leipzig -1 ½ (-107) / Arminia Bielefeld +1 ½ (-123)

In our introduction, we forgot to add Leipzig versus Bielefeld. RB followed up their Champions League loss to Liverpool on March 10 with a 1-1 draw against Frankfurt on March 14. Arminia beat Leverkusen on March 14, but they’re up against it versus Leipzig. The road team is ready to roll.

Soccer Free Pick: RB Leipzig

Saturday, March 20th Games

  • Union Berlin +305 / Frankfurt -125

Since Frankfurt’s miraculous 2-1 victory against Bayern on Feb. 20, they’ve lost a match and have drawn twice. Frankfurt should get back on track versus Union Berlin. But a victory may not be a done deal. Berlin and the home squad drew 3-3 in the last head-to-head. The draw is a promising proposition.

Soccer Free Pick: Draw

  • Stuttgart +2 ½ (-166) / Bayern Munich -2 ½ (+124)

Stuttgart has won 3 and drawn twice in their last 5. Since the Feb. 20 loss to Frankfurt, Bayern has won 4 in a row, including dusting Lazio 4-1 in a UCL match. Although Stuttgart is playing well, laying -166, even if we’re getting 2 ½ goals, asks too much. It’s worth taking a shot on Bayern to win by 3.

Soccer Free Pick: Bayern

  • Dortmund -1 ½ (+121) / Cologne +1 ½ (-161)

Dortmund star Erling Haaland has 19 goals in 20 Bundesliga games. He’s knocked in 10 goals, 4 more than any other player, in Dortmund’s Champions League matches. Cologne’s form is terrible and Haaland has turned into one of the best forwards in the world. For Cologne, this could get ugly.

Soccer Free Pick: Dortmund

  • Wolfsburg -112 / Werder Bremen +291

On paper, Wolfsburg dominates. But Werder’s form isn’t horrendous. Bayern beat Bremen by 2 goals on March 13. A couple of weeks ago, Bayern beat Dortmund by 2 goals, meaning Werder is in good company. Wolfsburg dominated Schalke by 5 goals in their last. Wolfsburg could bounce in this. The home team is the play.

Soccer Free Pick: Werder Bremen

  • Monchengladbach -1 ½ (-120) / Schalke 04 +1 ½ (-158)

On Nov. 28, 2020, Gladbach put a 4-1 beating onto Schalke 04. The worst team in the Bundesliga has a shot to make this respectable, though, because Monchengladbach is in awful form. With that being written, the best play is on the draw. Gladbach is reeling while Schalke has drawn twice in their last 5.

Soccer Free Pick: Draw

Sunday, March 21st Games

  • Mainz +273 / Hoffenheim -116

In the last head-to-head, Mainz and Hoffenheim drew 1-1. Mainz is playing well enough to constitute a bet. The draw is also a possibility. At -116, Hoffenheim is an underlay. So don’t back the home squad unless you feel great about them.

Soccer Free Pick: Hoffenheim

  • Leverkusen +106 / Hertha +236

Both teams are in awful form. Hertha has a slight edge because this happens on their pitch. Leverkusen provides underlay odds. So if you play this one, back Hertha at the decent odds or go with the draw.

Soccer Free Pick: Hertha

  • Augsburg +274 / Freiburg -108

Going back to Sep. 21, 2019, Augsburg and Freiburg have drawn in 3 straight. All 3 draws were 1-1 matches. Freiburg has the edge but laying -108 is asking too much. Playing for a fourth straight draw may be pushing our luck. Augsburg is worth a shot. That’s the play we’re making.

Soccer Free Pick: Augsburg
